well, i think his point was that...well i dont really know what his point was. but considering all of the big talk he made to his people and speeches of self-sacrifice, youd have thought that Saddam would not have given in so easily. Hell, if i knew the game was up and i was captured and going to die--hell id blow everything and everyone to **** just so id go out a hero to my people.

(no way sticking up for saddam, just stating what id have done in his situation. probably).

yes we got him we caught the @$$hole who hired people to dress as american officers and shoot his own people to make our country look like the bad guy, but what is really ironic about the situation is that he did all those tapes about how he has all this support from his people, and there he was living in a little hole, all by hiis wittle self

hahahahahahaha i love irony so much
now all that is left to do is capture Osama bin laden and disband alquida

and as we all know AMERICA IS THE BEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD

I was expecting a blaze of glory type ending. The open the door, hes waiting with 2 AK-47's screaming "HERE I AM YOU AMERICAN SCUM!" and he unloads at them.

why would you want that? it would just mean more american death. Which means a few more families who have to suffer over the holidays.

Okay, let's be frank about this.
They caught Saddam... and?
What's IT good for?
What's the bloody hell big deal about it??
The point is: they have him - what're they gonna do with him??

*twitch*
I'd say they should give him to the Iraqi's, (especially to the Kurds. They've got a MASS grudge against him) and close their eyes on the punishment he gets.
Personally, I think death would be far too good for this sick bastard... er...
*twitch*

Sorry, I get kinda carried away... back to the point..

About his behaviour, it really isn't that much of a mystery why he didn't resist (or am I the only person here who has a brother who studies sociology, and who's friends study psychology?).
People who are this brutal when they're in power usually have very weak charachter, and hope that their viciousness will cover what cowards they really are.

P.S. Saddam has been declared insane by many renowned psychologists, so he shouldn't be subject to criminal prosecution, but luckilly it's not officialy accepted.

I'm glad they caught him, good for the U.S. I think this is one of the greater, out of the few, positive outcomes with fooling with Iraq in the first place. She should now be concentrating on finding Osama Bin Ladin like we were gonna do in the first place.

As for Saddam's punishment, strip him naked and run him throgh a Kurdish neighborhood.

Well, it looks like we might not have been the ones who actually captured Saddam.

Well, they sounded pretty vague about who exactly captured him, so I'm not surprised.

But if you want a conspiracy, then look who just "happens" to have a white beard in December (like DC8 pointed out). Yes, it's Sadam Clause in custody, and now Tim Allen will rule in his stead.

Seriously, though Sadam didn't have "weapons of mass destruction", tons of our people died in the war,and Georgie is doing a terrible job with N Korea which does have nukes. Although I'm proud of all of the coalition forces in Iraq, and relieved for my country + the world, I just hope this doesn't make people want to vote for Georgie again.

Thats interesting and its possible, but I don't buy it. There wouldn't be enough of an advantage for the military or the administration to lie to us for the positive press, given the risk of exposure. In fact, I see no logical reason why they would lie. I think the credit goes to our two junior U.S. military-intelligence analysts, Lt. Angela Santana and Cpl. Harold Engstrom, from Alpha Company, 104th Military Intelligence Battalion.

Oh, dear, that Writer from the scottish paper must have been SO bullied at school...

back on topic. I buy this. Bush'es administration wants to put as much of the vote-winning spin as possible on everything with the election year approaching, so why not deny the Kurds the praise and glorify some US troops who answered the phone?. After all, will bush win votes should the SAS beat Delta in finding Osama? no.
