me and my friends got together and went on to create the greatest final fantasy battle party and we decided it had to have four characters consisting of one main, a black magic user, a fighter, and curer
the party consisted of Tidus ff10 vivi ff9 cid ff7 rosa ff4 we chose these by a elimination voting process what would your ideal party be? -------------------- "Have you ever seen a baby do that before?" |

Cloud (fighter)
Locke (thief) Relm (black/time/white mage) Marie (all around "gonna kick your ass character from hell") Marie is from Final Fantasy 2 of Japan. These characters have got to be the most powerful of the final fantasies pre-playstation. I could have easily chosen anyone else, but shes my favorite from the game. Locke...because every team needs the rogue, and hes the best there is. Relm, for she is my favorite magic character ever. Also--she is one of the MOST powerful magic users. Then there is Cloud, possibly the greatest main character from any game ever. He is in constant super saiyan mode ![]() -------------------- once you can accept yourself, you will never be alone |

Well, your basic party consists of two heavy-damage hitters, a healer, and an attack Mage. If you wanted to throw in a fifth one, then a medium-damage hitter.
Though this way, the only ones you can really draw characters from are IV and IX, because in the rest, they way characters' strengths lie is completely variable and up to you. FFI's characters, maybe, but I'm not going to/don't want to deal with that. So going from that: Heavy-Hitters: Cecil, Yang, Edge, Steiner, Zidane, Beatrix Healer: Rosa, Porom, Tella, FuSoYa, Eiko, Dagger Attack Mages: Rydia, Palom, Tella, FuSoYa, Golbeze, Vivi, Dagger, Quina Medium-Hitters: Cain, Gilbert, Quina, Cid, Amarant, Freya (Those last three were sort of on the border of HH and MH, so I tossed them in here). So I guess Cecil, Steiner, Amarant, Rydia, and Selphie (Meh). -------------------- "I had to write four novels before they let me write comic books." -Brad Meltzer |

Hmmm Well my team
Fighter-Cloud- his skills and limit breaks have shown me the most impressive fighter you play in a final fantasy to date. Thief-Locke- By far the most successful and durable rouge I've ever seen in any Final Fantasy. Healer- Aeris. Again her limit breaks make her more effective than mostg healers. Can anyone say Great Gospel. Mage- Celes. Runic allows her to replenish herself and she has some nice fighting skills to match. |

I can't seem to find the link to the past topic of this similar nature... but in all of these types of threads, I say something like I'd rather have a four person party of pure brute strength attackers... you won't need a curer if you kill the enemy first. So thus...
Kain Sabin Amarant Yang battle tactics: whenever Amarant trances, use Aura... (auto-revive all), then abuse No Mercy for all its worth. If curing is at all necessary, Sabin can use Mantra or Spiraler if at all desperate. Kain jumps, Yang attacks or uses Bear... -------------------- "When I turn the page The corner bends into the perfect dog ear As if the words knew I'd need them again But at the time, I didn't see it." ~"This Ain't a Surfin' Movie" - Minus the Bear |

To hell with a balanced party. I usually just beat my way through fights, anyway. No finesse.
Auron: His big sword laughs at Cloud's big sword. He's a powerful fighter, and his Breaks come in pretty handy. (And he's such a badass.) Celes: One of the better magic users, with both offensive and curative magic, and also pretty nasty with a sword. If you used her intelligently, her runic ability would start to make up for having crappy magic defense. (Even though I never use Runic.) Kain: The ability to hop up and down and completely avoid being hit for about half the fight is a pretty nice advantage. That, and he's a strong fighter with solid defense. (He's usually the only person who never goes down against Zeromus in my games.) After these three, I can't decide between Edgar (good fighter, cool tools), Tidus (speedy time mage), and Rydia (solid black magic and summons). As much as I like Locke, I don't rely on stealing to get me through games. I didn't even really start with support magic (anything other than direct healing/hurting) until FFX (when they first started to make it really useful). -------------------- Veni, vidi, dormivi. |

My best party: Shadow Cecil Vivi Rydia Quote Then there is Cloud, possibly the greatest main character from any game ever. He is in constant super saiyan mode and insane powerful. When does Seifer use his fists? I thought he used a gunblade, like Squall. Are you thinking of Zell, or does Seifer start punching people at some point in the game that I haven't reached yet?

I haven't played it since summer. Although, it would be pretty cool if Seifer started punching persons... sorry on the late post, but i just came back to find that a fifth character could be added. therefore i choose to add--Squall. I actually liked his character more than many of the other main characters in the FF games. so now my team should consist of:
Locke Relm Marie Cloud Squall a pretty fun team, all in all. I would like to state that when i said first "dark character" i was speaking in the manner that the DC would also be the main character. However, i realize that i did not make that clear enough (if at all) and that Shadow is indeed before Cloud, yet he is not the main character. However, Cecil is NOT, i repeat, NOT, a dark character. He is a good person, with a golden heart that is manipulated into mastering the dark sword and thereby being a dark knight. Even when he is in that class, he shows remorse for his actions, and all the while wishes to rid himself of the title. And we all know that he does and follows the path of the paladin. This makes him different than the likes of Cloud and Shadow. For the better part of the game, Cloud does not care about anyone save Aeris. And even when he decides to save the world, its only so that he can kill Sephiroth and be done with his twisted path. He never truly cares about many people, he just lightens up. Possible spoilers: highlight to view .Shadow is...just that. A shadow of the man he once was. Before the assassin gig, he was a cowardly train robber. He had to kill his emotions and hide behind a mask so that he could thrive in life. He is what a dark knight truly is and therefore nothing like Cecil EDIT: i looked back on my previous post, and i did state that cloud was the first MAIN DARK CHARACTER. ahem, just thought id mention that This post has been edited by the n00binator on 17th December 2003 22:47 -------------------- once you can accept yourself, you will never be alone |

Here's a nice well balanced group that's sure to get along.
![]() Cloud (FF7) - Ass whooper. Aeris (FF7) - Healer. Shadow (FF6) - Sneaky Fighter. ![]() Lulu (FFX) - Black Wizardess. For a couple back up characters I'd go with Celes and Auron. It would throw in more variety with Celes's magic+fighting and Auron's brutal attack and huge stats. -------------------- Get me off this Disciplinary Committee so I can play any FF except for FF8!!! |

*digress* I love you people... *end digress*
Well my perfect party would be...: Maduin - FF6 (So what, that he isn't playalbe?!? I want him on my dream-team!) - for magic and leadership. Guy (he certainly looks the name) - FF2 - I always make him a whoopass AND a healer (one doesn't disturb the other). Kain - FF4 - DRAGOON! BEST DRAGOON EVER! ARGH!!! Tifa - FF7 - even more whoopass.. and look at her ... *drool* ![]() If it would be allowed I'd exchange Kain for Magus and Tifa for Ayla in a heartbeat... Hmm... I'd have to say...
Cloud: Insanely good fighter... he made Emerald Weapon a joke for me to fight. Terra: Killer fighter and spell-caster. Plus she can Morph. Need I say more? Aeris: No need for casting Cure spells, inns, or Elixers... just use Great Gospel! Celes: Another killer fighter and spell-caster. And can absorb Magic attacks. Imagine Runic used in the other FFs. Too bad you can't put Crono from CT... |

Aye, we can use 5 now? Awesome.
After playing more of the FF games, here's my team of very strong fighters: Sabin from FFVI Cecil from FFIV Cloud from FFVII Steiner from FFIX Bartz from FFV For the all-around party, the one I would choose, I would bring these along: Edgar from FFVI Faris from FFV Laguna from FFVIII Cid from FFVII Sabin from FFVI -------------------- Wow. 1,000 posts. I'd have:
Main: Cid FFVII Fighter: Sephiroth White Mage: Garnet Black Mage: A BM from FFI I'd only have Cid as main character cause I just love people with spears and he seams to be the coolest out of all the spear users in every FF that I've played, and of course Sephiroth as fighter cause you really can't get a better one, Garnet as white mage cause not only can she use white magic she can also summon which would be a BIG help, and a regular BM from FFI cause theres only 3 BM's throughout the whole FF series -------------------- "If Satan is the prince of darkness, then that would make me the KING!" |

Fighter-Cyan VI(obviously)
Healer-Terra VI Bl. mage-Rydia IV( I always thought summoning was soo much cooler than just casting spells) Main-Cecil IV I realize that I limited myself to only two out of the many FF games out there, but I cant stress enough how much I hate most of the characters from FFVII and on. |
