Do most people who hang out in this forum play FFVI, or are they just here to talk about it? Let's find out. smile.gif

I played through the game twice this year. The first time was the regular game, and the second time was my expert version so that I could test and tune everything. Now that I'm done with that, I just enjoy hanging around here and sharing what I've learned about this great game. It's kind of like being in the FFVI world without actually playing through the game again.

I'm playing a few other games right now, and as soon as I finish what I'm doing with them, I'm going to play FFVI again (and this time I'm going to finish it).

I've played through it once (but saved state at the final battle so beat Kefka twice), and I have read online extensively about it.

I'm playing i90east's Expert Version, which I've gotta' say is really good. I'll quit shilling you about this some day i90, but I really like your version a lot.. It makes simple much more difficult, and I'm not even in the World of Ruin yet, which seems to be where all the fun in your game eminates. Good job!

I haven't played in about two and a half years, probably since I took screenshots for this site. I don't have time these days to play even games I have never touched, let alone games that I've beaten over a half-dozen times.

I haven't played it in a few months. First time I beat it, it was this text hack uncut version someone did. (Characters had their japanese names and japanese terms were used. The text was either a straight translation or a simple text modification hack that included swearing. *shruges) After that, I started the regular english version. I think I stopped on the first Ultros battle...

Hmm... custom version. I tried making an Al Behd text hack once. (Just for kicks) You don't care? Alright...

I don't even know what time this is for me, but it ain't a big number...like two, or three maybe. Hm.

Anyway, I'm playing i90east's version on and off. I just got stomped royally by the Marshal about an hour ago and turned it off. sad.gif

While I still believe that FFVI is the best game, I am busy playing FFX-2 right now. I have beaten FFVI more times then I can count but playing it over again is always the best.

I am currently playing through a Low Level Game. Quite challenging even for the experienced FF6 player. It requires you to make use of everyone's strengths and really exploit every monster weakness. The Opera House scene (rats+Ultros) is especially hard.

I am playing on a PSX, so no save states to avoid the opera scene. Everytime you get in one encounter with a rat, you have to do the whole opera scene over again. The whole thing takes about 25 min. It took me 2 weeks playing every day for 3-6 hours to finally avoid all the rats _and_ defeat Ultros. Ultros is quite the beast when your chars only have 100 hp and no spells.

Then I forgot to get the ThunderRod in the Figaro Cave. That made the Cranes brutal. The Cranes took me 9 days playing every day for 3-6 hours. Iron Ball and GigaVolt are devastating...pretty much instant game over.

After this game is over, I will post all of my notes (low level game and general tips).

I know this is sad, but I am not playing ff6 right now. It is my third favorite game of all, yet I am not playing it right now. I keep telling myself to play it, but I don't. I'll probably start playing it sometime soon, but for now I will remember the good old days.

Thanks Living Tribunal smile.gif Your comments mean a lot. I haven't been getting much feedback lately, so the comments I do get are significant. I'm glad you like it.

I just started over in ff6 yesterday, and I got instantly hooked laugh.gif . You never know how great this game is until you are up to 3:00 in the morning running around with Sabin and Shadow trying to get to Cyans castle. I love this game! I'm so hiped up on it I'm going to have to change my avatar and signatures. Back to the good old days!
