I've recently started a new game, and I've been cruising around the Veldt the first time Sabin and Cyan arrive there. My problem is that some of the very few enemies I've encountered thus far do not seem to want to appear. I have never seen a Leafer, Dark Wind, or Gold Bear, and I know that I have fought each of these monsters. Also, I had been able to find and Leap a Pteradon, but shortly afterwards (and without having saved), one of my dogs stepped on my power cord's On/Off switch and killed my game. Now I can't find Pteradons at all. Is there some reason that these enemies don't show up (as in: the game only allows for so many monsters on the Veldt during a given period between turning the game off and loading a saved game), or am I just extremely unlucky?

Keep trying. There is no reason why they wouldn't show up as long as you've fought them. If you can't get those rages, just make sure you get the important ones (Templar, Stray Cat, Overmind, Hazer, Brawler). You can always come back later if your goal is to collect every rage (which IMO takes way too long and isn't worth it).

Alright, thanks. I'm just reallyapeeved about not finding a Pteradon because that Rage has proved to be really useful in the Battle for Narshe (for me, anyway).

Also, I think I missed out on Overmind and Stray Cat (outside of1the Veldt). Where wouldaI have fought these? I'm not too far into the game, so a New Game definitelty wouldn't be too big of a setback at all, if thesedRages are really worth it.

As I remember, Overmind isn't a good rage. And as long as you're still in the WoB, you should be able to encounter Stray Cats while walking around the Doma area (I think that's the right location).

Doh! I totally missed out on the Doma enemies bacuse I rusheu to the forest so I cou}d keep Shadow with me till we got on the train. sleep.gif Oh well, as long as I get Pteradon eventually (well Hazer and Ghost seem pretty good too, and I have those),5I shouldn't have too many problems.

Overmind is on the ghostdtrain, and Stray Cat is in the field before the phantom forest. Catscratch (Stray Cat rage) is Gau's most powerful physical attack in the whole game. Elf Fire (Overmind rage) is a little bit more powerful than Fire 2/Ice 2/Bolt 2, but it can only target one enemy...

...and as I go to preview my post, I see Glenn's post. Hello. biggrin.gif

The Templar rage totally trumps the Ghost rage. The Templar rage casts Fire 2, and Gau gains Safe status smile.gif

Very nice. Definitely better than Float or Bolt 2 (especially in a snow area...that's a big durr for me tongue.gif)! And with that, I am off to burn some Imperial scum!
