There are no plans to do so according to everything Square has ever said.

No. The team that created FFT left Square after it created FFT. Squre may make FFT-2, but don't hold your breath.

I doubt that they will. I loved final fantasy tactics like any other rpg player, but they probably won't make another. They'll probably only stop with final fantasy tactics: advance. I have heard many rumors spread about a remake of the game, but those who say that never support with evidence.

Yes, let's make this into a "What would you want to see in FFT-2" thread - otherwise, question asked, question answered, topic closed.

I think tat if they make a sequel, it should be a prequel to FFT, and cover Balbanes, Wiegraf or Orlandu during the Fifty Year War.

I really hope they don't make a sequel. I am very leery of Square sequels, as I was disappointed in Chrono Cross and FFX-2 looks like "Pretty Princess Dress-me-up" (as Brian Clevinger so nicely wrote). The prequel that Wiegraf said sounds intriguing though. I think they'd need to bring back the original FFT team.

they could do the prequel the fifty year war that i think would be great. but a sequel i cant see one cuz, at the end of the game the guy telling the story said he wasn't seen agian. the only way way i can see one is if he is through thourgh time.one the past stoping the St. Ajora the first time. or going to the future fighting some new evil.

If they did a prequel, I would like it to be around the time period of St Ajora's coming. You could meet with the real Ajora, Germonik, and some people from Glabados church. I think it could be done nicely, but it should have an very solid scenario.
As for an hypothetic FFT-2, it could be done in the universe of Vagrant Story...but the best choice would probably be to create another universe. |

Hey, if they made a FFT sequel, prequel, whatever, for PS2, how do you think it should be. I think it would be cool to have a system where you hire your party, like it already has, but mare jobs, and the ability to customize the appearance of your party members (a la SSX 3).

The sequel to fft, which was ffta, was horrible. Therefore, I don't think there should be a sequel to fft. Plus, if SquareEnix did make a sequel to it on the PS2, they would inhance the graphics which would get rid of some of the joy of playing an old school video game battle format.

Merged two topics, since this one has been changed to discuss the same thing as the newer one.

i wouldnt care about the story line.. i would just want a upgraded FFT, for ps2 with some better cut scenes and way better summon monster animations.

a sequal would actually be really fun
first there would have to be more characters available in a battleit would be better to up it to around seven they would probably have to be tougher, and more battles and add more sercret characters i think it would be greatif this were ever to happen -------------------- "Have you ever seen a baby do that before?" |

I'll list the basic first than the elite classes after
Barbarian-Berserker Paladin-Heavenly Knight RED/WHITE/BLACK/BLUE Mage-Master of the BLUE/BLACK/WHITE/RED Arts Dark Knight-Chaotic Knight Lancer - Dragoon Samurai-Legend Knight-Hero Pirate-Captain Wanderer-Adventurer Time Mage- Chrono Mage Dancer - King/Queen of the Dance Bard - Vocal Master Smith - Master Smith You should be able to quest around Your men can move according to various customizable things you can alter on his/her character sceen Your men will move/act on their own, attack with magic or weapons and/or skills. You will move at your own descretion, it would be somewhat real time but your stats will talk louder than skills. The battlescreen will be a vast field, your whole regiment will be in battle at once against more enemies. Over all this game should also be put into a time of The 50 Years' War, and at various times in the game your regiment will join others that are on your side and battle on a HUGE field against many opponents. I'll me MORE than happy if you can just run around and talk in towns and on the world map... They could keep it 2d with the same art, but on a 3d back drop. You could move around the same and make many frames for the turning motion so it would clear from the transition from forward to forward right. I would like it so there would be 100 enemies and allies on one battle field, perhaps 10-20 on the screen at once on average. The classes would be more diverse, and you would be allowed to be heaven knights or dark knights, and you could splice alignment such as (Dark Holy and Neutral) into your job. You could also choose whatever side you want, and you would not be invincible, or God like, so no TG Cid characters. And it could be online, and the game could be called FFT: Wars or FFT: 50 Year's War and you could declare a side, and battle alongside allies against enemies. The game wouldn't be all fighting, you could quest around MOVE from city to city on foot and talk to other people, perhaps about the war effort or anything else. IMO all that stuff would make a great game. -------------------- Those with no names know no bounds |

ummmmm how about no?
your characters shouldnt be able to move on their own. I dont think there should be 'Elite' jobs. But i do however like the idea of having a giant battle scene of the '50 year war (like the scene of the end of ch.3 or 2 i think) Being able to alter your chracters appearence is cool, like having 5 different bodies and colours of knights and such...like those Black Ninjas and samurai Kick ass. i also think there should be a loyalty status. and i dont think you should be able to walk around....that was one of the cool parts of fft -------------------- Trying is the first step to failure. |

Why fix what isn't broken? Besides a new class or two, if there was indeed plans to create a sequel, I think that it should remain virtually the same. I like the idea about changing class garment colors though. That would add to the already superb character development.
A reward for mastering all job classes wouldn't be half-bad either. -------------------- It's gonna be a glorious day I feel my luck can change |
