Ok I have to research an undemocratic event that occured during the last 10 years against a minority group. Can anyone tell me if they remember any situations following that basic guideline??? If you can it would be much appreciated thanks

What exactly do you mean by an undemocratic event? One that defied the principles of a Democracy? One of Disorder and Chaos, or one of insult?

I think that would be one of insult, openly treating a minority group as inferior to a majority group.

what about any KKK activity over the past 10 years? thats the most undemocratic thing i can think of in the US. And its definetly against minorities,
And as for Kosovo, that could be used, namely the ethnic cleansing by the Serbs. Or theres Zimbabwe, after all, were'nt whites a minority there? and surely the government chukcing you out of your farms pretty undemocratic. And its definetly against minorities, They may not be the way to go if you're limited to just the last decade, because they've been fairly dormant, especially compared to everything else that's been going on. If you've ever looked at their history, their power tends to bounce up and down, and they've been at a low point for a good while. If you want to look at the US, you might want to take a look into the Feds' bias towards Middle Easterns since the WTC. Or the several Native American reservations that have been the same since they were stuffed in there. -------------------- "I had to write four novels before they let me write comic books." -Brad Meltzer |

Coming from a person who actually knows and has talked to a good number of KKK members, I don't think they persecute minorities as much as beliefs. In example are lack of ethnic identification, reverse racism, domestic violence, homosexuality and interracial relationships. I don't think they've actually been after a minority, afterall, I've had KKK members tell me about black members, and this was quite a while ago. If not for that, like what DP said, not a good idea because of thier dorment nature as of recent.
I would go for the way Middle East Muslims in America have been treated with the whole war against terror and all. -------------------- At times one remains faithful to a cause only because its opponents do not cease to be insipid. Friedrich Nietzsche (1844 - 1900) |

Officially, the KKK stands for racial separation, not for elimination of non-whites.
As for an event, this shouldn't be too hard. You don't even need to look past this past year's headlines. Look at the way certain political districts have been restructured in Texas. Stuff like that. -------------------- Veni, vidi, dormivi. |

I think the question is a minority group that has been treated undemocratically by the government or other federal agency, this will mean insulted, attacked, general chaos, and discriminated against racially but theres some good suggestions I'll look into them thanks and if you think of anymore keep posting please.

South Africa is always a good place to go for studies in discrimination. Although the situation has improved the last ten years, it's still not exactly a utopia (/understatement.)
