I'm not sure about this but are there themes for every character? It seems that there're not; only some characters have themes (as opposed to how every character has a theme in CT and FFVI).
I definitely know these: Cecil--march-like military-sounding theme in G minor Rydia--a beautiful theme in C major Rosa--a lovely theme in C major Edward--an excellent lyre solo in C major Cid--a spirited march in D major/D dorian Golbez--an evil-sounding organ theme in E minor But how about Kain, Tellah, Yang (is his theme the same as Fabul's theme?), Palom&Porom, Edge, and FuSoYa? What are their themes? -------------------- Check the "What games are you playing at the moment?" thread for updates on what I've been playing. You can find me on the Fediverse! I haven't played Final Fantasy IV in a while, so I can't remember their themes. I think all the characters have their own theme. At Final Fantasy Gods Oblivion Network, I have found a lot of midi's from this game. Mabye, one of them can be the theme of these characters. I hope this can help, good luck!

They didn't give individual character themes until FFVI.
But let's give them themes anyways Kain - T-1000's theme from Terminator 2. Or Vader's theme. Meh, they're all Drama Queens Yang - Kung Fu Fighting Tella - Hello in There by Joan Baez Palom & Porom - That song the Osmonds sang in the Pepsi Twist commercial Edge - Opening theme from "Ruroni Kenshin" FuSoYa - Ancient of Days -------------------- "I had to write four novels before they let me write comic books." -Brad Meltzer |

Quote (Dark Paladin @ 19th November 2003 22:19) They didn't give individual character themes until FFVI. How can that be true when only certain songs play when certain characters are put in the spotlight, and why the song that plays whenever Rydia comes in is called "Rydia's Theme"? Maybe not all of them have themes, but i'm pretty sure there are individual themes for the major characters. I'm not saying your wrong DP, i'm just wondering.... -------------------- Jeez, another signature...i can't do this anymore, just kill me already! |

I'll say he's wrong. I don't see how you can see any possible use for a track named "Rydia" other than as Rydia's Theme.
Oh, and Edge Mursame, it's usually appreciated if you utilise the site you're on rather than linking to another site for something we already have: FF4 Midi According to that track list (which was taken from the OSV), the following characters have explicitly labeled themes: Rydia Golbez Cid Giott the Twins This is not to say that other pieces are not utilised as character themes, but I couldn't tell you off the top of my head. -------------------- "To create something great, you need the means to make a lot of really bad crap." - Kevin Kelly Why aren't you shopping AmaCoN? I think I barely remember hearing that, although I never associated it with the twins. But maybe it is, so scratch the twins off the no-theme list.
Edit: I also found the track "The Lunarians" but I am not sure whether or not to count that as FuSoYa's theme (I don't think I will, though). well, i dunno about actual themes, so i think ill follow DP and make my own up.
Cecil/DK-"Angel with the Scabbed Wings" Manson Cecil/PLD-"Intergalactic" by Beastie Boys Rydia/kid-"By Myself" LP or "The Kids Aren't Alright" by Offspring Rydia/adult-"Bittersweet Symphony" The Verve Kain-"In the End" LP or "The Sickness" by Disturbed, and possibly "Where is My Mind" by the Pixies Rosa-"Fell in Love with a Girl" White Stripes. although it misses the point of the song, i still picture her to the song. Edge-"Come out Swinging" Offspring Tellah-"Last Resort" by Papa Roach Yang-"Wait and Bleed" Slipknot FuSoYa-"Moonbaby" Godsmack Golbez-Darth Vader theme is nice, but so is "Devil Man" by White Zombie The Twins. Boy-"Break Stuff" Limp Bizkit and Girl-"Paradise of Rave" Happy Hardcore--cuz i cant think of anything better right now. Edward-"Homo Rainbow" Ween. (for those of you who dont know, that is a real band). Cid-"Iron Man" Black Sabbath -------------------- once you can accept yourself, you will never be alone |

I for my part consider the "Theme of Love" as Rosa's theme, as well as the "Prologue" being Cecil's theme, and "Melody of Lute" as Edward's (and maybe Tellah as well, due to the connection between them, through Tellah's daughter).

I think those are the ones that I referred to as Rosa's, Cecil's, and Edward's themes in my first post.
But for Tellah--I don't think he has an actual theme, though. -------------------- Check the "What games are you playing at the moment?" thread for updates on what I've been playing.
