Maybe the Rhodoxes are so extremely dense, that they are quite overweight for the size that they are. Conspiracy time!

I like Mithreel's idea, that could be worked into a custom monster, a funny one at that.
Its palette swaps also cannot be suplexed. -------------------- |

For those who like suplex it does matter. I want the screenshot so we'll never talk about it again.

Rhondex can't be suplexed because they are being held down by roots. It is the only thing that makes sense. Their legs are stuck in the hole because they are being held by invincible roots that can't be torn from the ground, so even if Umaro, the strongest character in the game tried to pull out the Rondex, he would fail. I hope this makes sense...

And to keep it on track, I'd think the characters are quite fairly matched. Obviously Relm won't use the same kind of 'tear it apart' tactics that you'd use with Sabin, but each character has something they're good at doing. Sabin's strongest attacks are single-target, which balances him out. Relm is good for getting lores with strago (and has a high magic power to boot). Honestly, I'd say that there's just 2 unfair characters in ff6, and those are Gau and Setzer... but they're only overpowered if you exploit certain hidden game features or odd builds that you wouldn't consider making without actually hacking into a ROM and looking for powerful attack combinations like the wind god gau trick or the "slot machine" result fixing! I would say it is fair. The only reason why RPGs get easy is people learn to exploit the programming. Look at Diablo 2, when I first started all my characters sucked. I found out what "worked," and was unstoppable... until that nasty patch came out and killed it for everyone.

But back on topic, I agree with Keith, some of the characters are really overpowered if they have 2 of 4 items. If you gave Celes the Offering and Gengi Glove, everything dies in one (or should I say 8) hits. Or if you give Terra the Economizer and Gem Box and put her in Esper mode, I hope the enemy has life insurance. Then there are some characters that become underpowered later in the game. -------------------- Could you repeat that? |

Morphing isn't that great of an ability though. It is completely dependant on the battles that you won before it, and how long you've used it since. And why give Celes the offering/genji glove? There are much more physically powerful characters. Celes is just a wannabe.

And if you give Celes the offering and Gengi Glove, coupled with Ilumina/Excalibar/Atma weapon, Kefka dies in 1 of her turns. Sometimes you need to use the right espers though. -------------------- Could you repeat that? |

I agree with Tiddles back in 2002, from what I've read 'everyone' has their own party, and if no one can agree on who is weak and who is most powerful, then they must be well balanced. ^^
