Is there a way to see the N most recent posts?

Because, in a situation I've faced before, I stopped by the forum, found stuff I needed to deal with, got called AFK to take care of other things, came back, and now my "last login" was earlier today so "view new posts" no longer works right and I've forgotten when I last really visited the forum so there's no easy way of seeing recent posts.
