I think the best character in FFT would have to be...
Delita Hyral tongue.gif also Marquis Mesdoram Elmdor ::Blood Suck:: thumbup.gif

OK, I like a lot of the characters, so it's not easy.
Ramza : he's the hero, and a good one. Great values, and the courage to stick up for it.
Zalbag : most tragic story of the game imo.
Balmafula : the cutest (I will make my Cuties of the game topic survive no matter what shifty.gif )
And the winner is (drum roll \<>/.........) Delita : he and Ramza are the glue to all this story, and Delita's story is a tragedy. I like tragedies.

[FONT=Arial]Hey i dont know about all of you but im all for Cloud. Hes MAD hard to get and hes crappy the first few levels, but he still has his morals, headaches, and love for Aeris. So i'd say Cloud is the big man in FFT.

I'll go with Mustadio. His plucky, care-free personality plays a great foil to a majority of the characters in the game, who for the most part seem steeped in melodrama. In terms of Gameplay, his Snipe was a major headache for all of my opponents, and giving him Chemist skills transforms him into a potent healer/long-range specialist.

Close second goes to Cidolfas Orlandu. Cool character, and ridiculously over-powered; every mission is a total joke after you get him.

Delita. He has the second longest and developed storyline in the game filled with backstabbing and tragedy (aside from Ramza, of course), enough to make a new game from his point of view.

For one, I like Delita Hyral. Not only does the story show how much tragedy one can go through, the story shows exactly how man is, and how man can be in video games, the greedy, ambitious man once he realizes he can have anything. Delita is all that.

Another is Izlude Tingel. While many other characters who opposed Ramza hid daggers in their smiles, Izlude was one of the few who opposed Ramza and yet had a good heart, being deceived by the Church and the Lucavi. I reckon if Izlude knew the truth, he'd join Ramza. Besides, Blade Knights are kickass.

I suppose another character would be Ovelia. She was the person who had morale, feelings, even as she was constantly used from beginning to end. I had to sympathize with her, and she met a pretty sticky end when she decided one day to stick that dagger into Delita...

I have to agree with bond4154 in part.

Izlude rocks. He's a good guy on the wrong side...I mean c'mon! Aww be that way...

Izlude is also a favortie game name for me...in some RPGs. Just sounds cool.

i would have to say ramza (big surprise huh? happy.gif ). i liked delita in the begining but disliked him in the end. he became everything he hated. but i guess looking from other points all the tragedy that happened in that game to him you really cant blame him.

Agrias is pretty cool. So was Weigraf.
I'm only part of the way through the game, though. I'll pick back up once I find my PSX pinch.gif

My fav has always been, and always will be the one and only Thunder God, Cid. He's so powerful, that after I got Cloud, I trained him by going into battle with just the two of them and Reis. Cloud and Reis would train through most of the battle, and since they were the only ones fighting, they'd get tons of exp and jp. And if they ever got into any trouble, a few lightning stabs were enough to get them out of it. happy.gif

Well, my favorite (in the sense of characters who will, along your quest join up with you) would be Orlandu because he can get all of the good sword abilities, the
Damage + Item breaker and the Holy Swords that Agrias has. However, my favorite (in the sense of ANY character) would be a Summoner that I have named Piro wub.gif , he has all the summons and he was a thief so he's got a decent speed rating and with the sprint shoes equipped it goes up even more, so he gets his summons out (even the likes of Bahamut, Odin, and Cyclops) with decent speed, even considering the incredibly long charge time needed.

I have a few choices...
Ramza: the black sheep of the family who saves the world...nuff said
Agrias: Until you get Orlando, she is the best character, her holy sword skills saved me alot of times.
Mustadio: hell he has a gun plus you need him for Worker 6 (funniest part of the game when Worker 8 beats him up) and Cloud

Celia and Lede are the most awesome characters in the game. Their skills are unbelievable! Not to mention their ability to equip hair pieces as accessories on the Roof of Riovanes Castles, lol. I stole the cachusha from Celia to see if I could equip it as an accessory*sigh* it didn't work.... oh well

It would have to be Cloud or Cid. Cloud is just awsome. But Cid is unlimited power in tactics. He is literally invincible. I haven't found one monster who could beat him.

Based upon character personalites and the story of the game, my answer is--Dycedarg. very interesting character IMO.
Possible spoilers: highlight to view
-turns against family and its legacy as heroes for power
-kills own father
-manages to fool EVERYONE in his family, and he manages to do the same with his lord

however, if i had to decide based upon looks, and whom i personally think is cool, i vote Reis. I think she is the cutest (i cant believe im saying this) chick in the game, and she is an unstoppable magician. also, if you give her equip sword as a dragoner she somehow automatically has TWO SWORDS. pretty nice, if ya ask me.

Miluda, without question. Her hair style rocks!! and the Knight outfit? awesome!

No actually...

I'd say Delita... in the beginning, before Zeakdan. He is cool and collected- he makes the first few fights feel informed and exciting. He is constantly dropping obscure knowledge on everyone and making genius assumptions. My kind of guy.
