Today was my last day in college. I still have assignments to finish, but this is the last day I have to be there as a student. So, I was feeling nostalgic over my time there, and I thought I'd do something a little special for my final commute. Since I love music so much, and I've used my daily commute over the years to listen through all sorts of album, from Van Morrison and Otis Redding, to Bob Dylan and the Beatles.

So, earlier this week, it hit me that I should use some song as my "ending theme," and as I've said here many times before, FFVI is my favorite video game ever. Basically, I did a campus tour while playing "Balance is Restored." Not only did I listen through the entire song, I timed it to where I crossed the bridge as the FFVI version of the FF main theme played..

With that being said, as I was driving back, the thought occurred to me, "That might be the nerdiest thing I've ever done!" At least it ranks up there with singing the entire "Never Gonna Give You Up" and the Monstar Rap on cue or dressing up like Gandalf through the entirety of Battle of the Five Armies.

So what about you guys? What are your nerdiest moments?

I used to whistle Balance is Restored while I waited for my mom to pick me up from school. biggrin.gif

Oh, lord, there's a list as long as my leg in that category, it's hard to name just one.

I think the one that stands out for me is when I was a senior in high school, I went to a dance with this gorgeous young lady. When we got there, her parents weren't home so she invited me in. I remember her going to take a shower and leaving me in the living room all by myself. Well, while I was waiting, I noticed that her family had this huge TV and a play station with Final Fantasy Tactics.

Needless to say that when she got out of the shower, I was already absorbed in the game and she lost me. It didn't matter what she was wearing (or not wearing), I was hooked.

Maybe if she'd cosplayed as Tifa I might have paid attention...

"Nah, I'm more of a Star Wars guy."

I think it would be the day that I had three drinks of a very potent energy drink.
I allowed my friend to put a feather in my hair, and ran around being utterly obnoxious for the red of the day. After that, I went home and started sewing a plushie of Sora.

Ha! How many times has my SNES done that to me. Hey, but then again, that's not nerdy, that's dedication to FF!

It's such a catchy melody, especially the part that goes before the main FF theme. And that is my favorite version of the FF theme.

There's a trump card!

But then again, what's nerdier, the nerd leader or the nerds that follow him!

At my final piano recital during my piano-playing years (it was 2001 and I was 15 years old), I played two songs: "Overture / This is Halloween" from The Nightmare Before Christmas and "To Zanarkand" from Final Fantasy X.

I once told a kid that it wasn't as easy as he thought to break a window, and that you would need a special tool, like a sonic screwdriver or something. It took me a second to realize that I had said that.

Also, when I was younger, I would sing the Victory Fanfare every time I finished my homework.

And there was this one time that I caught myself singing an anime opening song in Japanese. When I tried to do it again, I couldn't remember the words. That was a weird day...
