Two questions, for all you guitarists/bassists out there:
1. What kind of guitar/bass/amp do you use? 2. Name your dream rig. 1. I play a black Hamer Archtop with a Seymour Duncan JB pickup in the bridge, through a Marshall JCM 2000 TSL 60watt combo. 2. I dream of owning, but will never be able to afford the following instruments: Gibson SG Standard (Stock pickups replaced with a Gibson Classic 57 in the neck and a Gibson Tony Iommi sig. in the bridge) black finish Hamer Studio Custom, stock pickups, vintage sunburst finish Marshall JCM 2000 DSL 100w head with matching 4x12 cabs Soldano 100w super overdrive head with Marshall cabs The cost of all of these put together is somewhere around $10,000. -------------------- "Nothing exists, but atoms and the void" -Democritus |

I have been playing bass for over a year now. My first one was an Ibanez, but that just couldn't make it over a year. Right now, I have a Washburn and it's beautiful. As for my amp, I still have the same amp I've had since I started playing. It's a Peavey MicroBass [feel free to laugh if you wish]
My dream bass... hmmm... I dunno. Never really thought about it. I don't think that I would be able to improve upon it except getting a newer better amp. Oh, and the Wa pedal for the bass, and I'd be all set. -------------------- "When I turn the page The corner bends into the perfect dog ear As if the words knew I'd need them again But at the time, I didn't see it." ~"This Ain't a Surfin' Movie" - Minus the Bear |

Black Takamine G Series acoustic guitar with electric pickup, cost me 700$ CAN on sale. Â I use my dad's old Yorkville 50K Mixer Amp when I actually want to use the pickup, which is rare. Â
I also have my dad's antique '69 four string Fender Jazz Bass guitar, and his REALLY antique Marshall amp (this thing is a MONSTER, it's more than twice the size of the Yorkville amp with LESS power). I don't really look at guitars that much because I'm just a hobby guitarist, and my Tak is enough for me... However I would really, really like a 12-string electric. Â A double-neck would be even cooler. -------------------- I close my mouth now and I scream, Open the door, there's nothing worth redeeming I saw your face before in rough, You should wait around a while, your body's bound to turn up. I have a Squier Precision Bass I got about a year ago. Not the greatest bass, but it's good for beginning. I rented a nice Marshall 25 amp for the first month, but ended up buying a Squier BP15 amp instead.
My dream bass is definitely an American Fender Jazz bass, probably 5 string. Marshall amps are nice. -------------------- Lou: There's a couple of guys fighting down at the aquarium, Chief. Wiggum: Do they still sell those frozen bananas? Lou: I think so. Wiggum: Let's roll. |

I currently own two guitars. A custom Jackson Warrior guitar, with seymour duncan single coil pickups, shaved flat neck, and the fret bars are pushed lower, so you feel them less. It's mahogony wood, red, and she's my baby. (Although she's been through hell). My other guitar, is a Nevada AMX custom, starburst paintjob, I put speed demon single coil pickups in it recently, it's basicly a stratocaster knockoff. For an amp, I have a Nevada 30 watt amp, but I'm going to sell it soon, and buy myself a Marshall JCM, preferably any model, so long as it's at least a 50 watt. I also own a Digitech RP300 pedal board, with cabinet emulation on it. So I have any type of amp I need, but its not the same.
My dream rig (keep in mind, DREAM), is a marshall jcm amp head, with 6 by 14 Peavey XXX Cabinets, my digitech rp300 hooked up to a Kerry King signature Jackson V guitar (black with blue ghost flames), or possibly a Gibson SG Angus Young signature guitar. (red like his, with the silver peice holding the tremolo, and the raised bridge). The day I ever got this rig I think I would cry of joy. -------------------- Okay, but there was a goat! |

I play a Fender Standard Telecaster with no modifications, so it's just basic stuff. Being the cheapskate that I am, I only have a cruddy little Crate practice amp. I've been thinking of buying a Big Muff distortion/sustainer pedal, but I don't want to spend money.
I'd love to have a '74 Fender Custom Tele, or a Gibson SG standard. They just look so rock-n-roll. If I ever get money to waste, I'd buy a Fernandes Native X or Pro, just to mess around with. As for amps, anything is better than my current one, so I wouldn't be very picky. -------------------- No deer for a month. |
