i like to use shadow, personally. the jump attack seems to be a ninja style- come out of nowhere and in for the kill.
i know a lot of friends who prefer mog. mog and edgar are the primary lance users in the game, and that seems to make them logical choices for dragoons. of course, i never do any jumping without the dragon horn. maybe some people hate the dragoon boots? |

I used Shadow a lot, but Cyan also makes a nice lancer.
I used Shadow as a lancer, mostly so that I could stick him in my weakest team for Kefka's tower, in the hopes that he could balence it out a bit. Also, Jump throw and Interceptor just makes a nice package. This post has been edited by Iain Peregrine on 6th November 2003 12:34 |

I don't really use the Dragon Boots. Jump takes too long and the boots take up a space a much more useful relic can have.
If I were to give them to someone, I would give it to either Edgar or Mog, but only if they had a lance in their hands. Jump belongs with the lance. -------------------- "I had to write four novels before they let me write comic books." -Brad Meltzer |

It's more useful with the Dragon Horn.

Edgar. Equip him with Pearl Lance, Dragoon Boots, Dragon Horn and let the fun begin (so long as the enemy you're facing isn't Pearl-elemental

There actually is no Dragoon class character in Final Fantasy VI, unfortunately, which is why Jump is a skill gained by wearing Relics. If you're thinking of the two lance wielders, think again. Edgar is classified as a Machinist and while Mog is classified simply as a Moogle, he is definitely under the Geomancer/Elementalist class.

The one thing that I didn't like about FFVI was there was no dragoon, or lancer class. I usually gave dragon boots to Edgar cause he can use a spear. Sometimes I use Mog for the same reason but I think Mog looks weird with a spear.

Which is why I always hooked Mog up with a Merit Award and gave him a powerful sword. Always worked wonders when paired with a Snow Muffler. Powerful attack, incredible defense, a multitude of elemental skills, and with enough Magic spells, he's quite unstoppable.

I always gave Locke the dragoon boots just because he did no special skills that did good damage. Capture was just the attack damage and steal combined, which I really just used the skill until magic became available. But with the dragoon boots he did more damge with just taking a little more time and that made him even more useful.
I know Locke didn't make much of a dragoon cause he was a thief or treasure hunter. So I voted for Edgar he has a lance and looks like a dragoon more then Mog does This post has been edited by Vicks on 7th November 2003 22:08 -------------------- Hiding only delays the inevitable. |

The logical choice for me was Edgar. He already uses a lance so him being a Dragoon isn't that far of a <badpun> leap </badpun>.

Well if you take into account Mog has baby wings then perhaps he would be best suited. But your right he looks wierd with the spear. Edgar would strikes me as more of a Paladin if it weren't for his attitude toward women and those pick up lines. But still I'd give the title to Edgar mainly because I had a theory that Edgar might have been considered a Dragoon early in FF6 development but the FF6 team changed thier minds.

Well then again if we put a dragoon helmet on Cyan he would look dragoonish. What if we gave him the merit award and a pair of the dragoon boots.

Mog usually wields a spear, so it looks cruel when he does a Dragon Jump and drills the weapon into the enemy's head.
![]() But, I rarely use the Dragon Jump. Even with the Dragon Horn equipped. This post has been edited by Shirrow on 9th November 2003 15:17 -------------------- People say I'm a slow learner, but I type fast! |

I had Locke be my Jumper, he was just not useful anywhere else. The only time I actually used him by choice was maxing out my Elixers and Megaelixers. other than that, he was pretty useless.
