How did I not post in this topic back in 2003?
Anyway, the answer would still be the same. The only other forum that I frequent then (and now) is still Starmen.net Waaaay back when (like 1999/2000) it was Earthbound.net but it changed to Starmen.net due to some infighting. It was all about Earthbound (as the domain would indicate). Today it's a little bit broad extending to the Mother series and spawning an entire company dedicated to fan merch, Fangamer.net. It was my first real site I joined and have kept up with. CoN is the other big site on the internet that I keep coming back to -------------------- kame, tortue, tortuga, schildkröte, tartaruga, turtle "Arthur Dent?" "Yes." "Arthur Philip Dent?" "Yes." Besides CoN, the only site I frequent and post in at all is Spellhold Studios, which is primarily dedicated to hosting mods for various computer RPGs, particularly the Baldur's Gate series. Beyond that, there's plenty of info and discussion on modding, as well as on popular and upcoming CRPGs I care about. I actually don't post there nearly as much as I used to, but a few of the more dedicated members are really good about keeping up with news on topics I would otherwise miss.
Gibberlings 3, Pocket Plan Group, and Chosen of Mystra/Team BG are the other modding sites I periodically visit, mostly for mod updates. -------------------- |

Oh, I was also briefly active on The Tangled Web, a forum for tabletop role-playing games, which comes with its own online character sheet feature. I used it to make a character for a campaign on IRC and another on Ventrilo, both through the TV Tropes community, as well as a campaign organized by some TTW members on TTW itself. Unfortunately, I learned quickly that my schedule didn't agree well with TTRPGs.

I troll and post on RPGamer.com about as equally frequently as I do here, which is not very much.

Largely because of the direction that most web-based communities have gone, and also due to my own lack of time, I no longer really visit any forums besides this one. I have made a few aborted starts over the years, but really, aside from CoN, I have yet to find one with many subjects that hold my interest over time and/or have the level of refinement I feel like most (not all!) of our posts have.
Of course, my own recalcitrance to participate in other forums might be somewhat tied to the fact that our own forums are much slower than they used to be, but I can't carry that weight all on my own shoulders. -------------------- "To create something great, you need the means to make a lot of really bad crap." - Kevin Kelly Why aren't you shopping AmaCoN? |

Clearly I don't even visit CoN all that often anymore, and it's miles ahead of any other fora in terms of my frequency of visitation. In fact, I literally can't think of the last forum that wasn't CoN that I went to.
I've made a few efforts at other fora over the year, but they just haven't been able to hold a candle to CoN; I should be making more of an effort to swing by here, since we're on the subject, but between full-time work in front of a computer and preparations for graduate school, I haven't much felt like being in front of a computer--much as I'd love to rekindle my CoN forum experiences. |

Long time lurker here, but wanted to say something. I've been on a lot of forums in my lifetime, but have to say, this forum is in my top 3. It's well run and I enjoy coming here even if it isn't very active these days.
