Hi guys this is a repost of one of my topics from another site.
I believe amazon stopped people from selling from IL but I am curious what is a better service to use? I have a bunch of old but good games that I am looking to get rid of but won't sell well If at all at GameStop. I used to have some amazing titles like Earthbound boxed but after I went to the Marines ten years ago my mother destroyed all my old SNES AND N64 boxes and wrote "BILLY" on the back to those are no good. I have many old RPGs from the PS1 era that honestly I rebought on the PS3 and figure it's time to move on. So I just want to make sure I am making the right choice because I have had some of these items for over teen years. -------------------- His Divine Shadow |

Doesn't quite answer your question, but you can try selling them here. I've bought a game a few years ago from another longtime member here, and I'm curious what you've got.

I think I understand just enough of your post to give you an answer, but, if you can, why not do both? You can list the items on eBay, and if they don't sell, or don't meet any reserve you set, there's nothing stopping you from then listing them on Amazon.
Really, you could list them both places simultaneously but that would run you into issues if someone buys it from Amazon before the eBay auction ends, because then you'd have to end the auction on eBay and would probably annoy whatever bidders you had. -------------------- "To create something great, you need the means to make a lot of really bad crap." - Kevin Kelly Why aren't you shopping AmaCoN? |

My recommendation would be to sell on Ebay. Amazon takes quite a but of a cut of the commission. I don't remember the commission on Ebay but I feel like it was less. I could be wrong though. Like, for example. I sold X game on Amazon for $15. They take out almost $5 commission on that and that leaves me with $10 and a $3.99 shipping credit, hopefully the shipping won't cost more than $3.99 after I buy the box and get delivery confirmation.

I've sold books on Half.com (which is now half.ebay.com), and my experience is that even the cheapest shipping, media mail, always costs more than the shipping credit they actually give (which is less than the shipping they charge to the buyer). Even when I pack the book with really lightweight packaging.
I don't know about Amazon, or eBay proper. I think media mail is a scam of sorts. I've always been able to ship cheaper with first class mail. When I ask them to send it media mail, they tell me it's cheaper to send it the other way.

I've been too scared to sell on eBay cause my items might not sell and I'd waste money on the fees and never thought of Amazon.
I have Mega Man for Game Gear and lot's of Yu Gi Oh cards tried Craigslist but no one wanted the cards. -------------------- I treasure those who I love that love me in return. <3 |

I don't think they charge insertion fees anymore. They didn't when I posted some stuff recently.

For making money the best way to go is Ebay. I actually have a good friend who works for a small company that runs an Ebay store, and he constantly tells me he's buying stock from Amazon to sell on Ebay for higher prices. From what he tells me, people just don't check Amazon for some reason before paying the higher price on Ebay.
