It took more than a little while, but the action RPG Pandora's Tower, first mentioned here almost two years ago, has been given a new lease on life with an announced North American release. Announced just yesterday, the North American release will fill the final major gap in the game's worldwide coverage, as Australia and Europe both got the game in 2012.

The game will be published by Xseed, famous for bringing The Last Story here as well. It's assumed that there will be no new localization given that an English-language version of the game already exists, as described above. It's assumed further that the driving force behind getting the game published here was Operation Rainfall, a grass roots gaming group famous also for their campaign to get The Last Story.

Xseed says that the game will be released this spring.

Incidentally, Carpe Fulgur, the localizer of acclaimed indie action RPG and item shop sim Recettear: an Item Shop's Tale, has been working for a year now on an undisclosed "Project 4", which has been rumored to be a collaboration with XSEED (a claim that hasn't been confirmed or substantiated, but then again, nothing has been). Most typical guesses are that it's part of Trails in the Sky, though now I'm wondering if it's this. Then again, Carpe Fulgur has so far only done three PC games, and no console games--which this seems likely to be since it's from Nintendo.

Edit
People at the CF forums say that the undisclosed Project 4 is unlikely to be this game, because it's already been localized. On the other hand, some people have suggested the game Zwei!!.

That IS exciting. Is it going to hit the Wii or WiiU instead? Likely the Wii, I guess. Just do a translation instead of an upgraded port?

But still, that's cool! This and Xenoblade were the two that psyched me most, and the less than stellar reviews of Last Story support that fact.

Games on the Go
Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasy: Four Warriors of Light
Baldur's Gate

Too much to play, so little time!
