I don't believe so. SE has been rather quiet in general of late. I do a google search just to check every now and then, since FFX is by far my favorite videogame, but I don't think there's been much of any info added since shortly after they announced it in the first place.

I've made fun of FFX a lot over the years (thanks for the memories, Tidus) but as time rolls on, now that I've seen how Squeenix has disappointed me, it's lookin' a bit better than I remember. Heck, it was the reason I bought a PS2 in the first place. Guess there's a part of me that hopes this project doesn't fail after all! The visuals back then weren't too shabby -- they might even still impress a little nowadays -- but with a HD paintjob, it could be pretty awesome.

I've been keeping an eye on this one too. I agree that SquareEnix has been very silent lately.
I'm also looking forward to unlocking some trophies, it is almost certain that if it's an HD version like God of War and Devil May Cry it will have a trophy batch. I think that would add some replay value to the game for those who have played this more than once. It's been eleven months, not six years. We should give them a longer grace period before we throw around the vaporware sticker.
...then again, FF X did have Nomura as its art director.... -------------------- |

Hi there,
I hope they released this game ASAP on PS3, you know its a good game and even this game is 12 years old it is one of the SquareSoft (Square Enix) great game. Another thing, I'm really sure that they can't port this on PSP, but I hope they will. ![]() --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Even its hard to do, always do good things. I'm certainly in the same boat as you with regards to anxiously awaiting FFX-remastered news. When it was announced, they actually announced it for PS3 as well as Vita, so it looks like your wishes will (probably) be granted! Your bumping this thread has made me wonder, though, if they might delay this project a bit more. After all, we haven't heard anything in a while, and the PS3 isn't going to live forever. Who knows. They announced it in 2011, at TGS. http://www.cavesofnarshe.com/news/article/...-ps-vita-in-hd/
I think we missed it in tidbits last year, but at the 2012 TGS a Squenix employee did tell IGN that it was still in the works. http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/10/17/fin...-in-development -------------------- "To create something great, you need the means to make a lot of really bad crap." - Kevin Kelly Why aren't you shopping AmaCoN? |

News on the project is coming "soon" but who knows if that means we're learning about an actual release or learning that the project was scrapped. Hopefully the former, it's something that I really, really want. -------------------- Hey, put the cellphone down for a while In the night there is something wild Can you hear it breathing? I feel like, if a project was to be scrapped, you wouldn't hear a company official using the language "the world will get answers soon, we promise." On the other hand, I suspect the "answers" we receive will probably involve a fair bit of additional waiting. -------------------- Currently Playing : Final Fantasy V Most Recently Beat : Elder Scrolls: Skyrim Favorite Game : Final Fantasy X The newest CoNcast is up! FFX-HD is something I have really been looking forward to. I bought a PS2 again (I used to have one when I lived in the States but didn't bother bringing to Europe with me for PAL/NTSC reasons) and picked up FFX and -2 for it. Unfortunately, either it looks like crap on a HDTV, or I've been spoiled. I did play through it in 4:3 mode but rather hastily and didn't bother with any of the additional content, because it really was an eyesore. I'm not blaming the game because it was designed for much lower resolutions (480p, I think).
The game itself, the music, story, characters etc is a-w-e-s-o-m-e, and I would love to be able to play through it without stretched out graphics. So this is an instant pre-order when it gets a proper announcement. I'd forgotten that it was also announced for the Vita. Now I'm even more enthusiastic about it... I think they probably don't have that many people working on it, since they have FFXIII-3 to work on, and then I guess XIII-4, and XIII-5, and... |

Prince, I like you already
![]() Not sure how much you were joking there at the end, but they have said that this will be the final tale in Lightning's saga. Of course, there's still Versus 13, so we aren't done seeing the numerals "XIII" yet, but I wouldn't worry about those getting in the way. If anything, they'll be super focused on FFXIV for the next half a year, and by then, who knows - they may have announced next-gen titles. -------------------- Currently Playing : Final Fantasy V Most Recently Beat : Elder Scrolls: Skyrim Favorite Game : Final Fantasy X The newest CoNcast is up! While helping with some CoN stuff I've had the FFX soundtrack playing.. I've gotta say its possibly my favourite out of all of them. It really brings me to the realisation of how much I liked the game and should play it again; the game itself is an experience like none other in the genre.
