Pc's been getting a lot of attention recently.. I unearthed a certain Titanic: Adventure out of Time, a point and clicker I played when I was too young to understand it. Its good and bad in ways that continually surprise me.
also Left 4 Dead 1/2, a lot. I'm almost a competent hunter user ![]() -------------------- www.youtube.com/blinje The victor sacrificed the vanquished to the heavens |

I had been doing a little bit of Skyrim over the past month or so, but when Borderlands 2 went 50% off on Steam a few days ago, I couldn't resist it any longer. Only a few hours in, but I'm enjoying it. At this point, though, I think I prefer the first.

I finished Okami a few days ago - FANTASTIC game. It's quite similar to Zelda in basic formula, but I think that Okami has better visuals, combat, items/abilities, and storyline while recent Zelda games have better dungeons and large maps. Boss battles are a pick'em. You can pick up the new HD version of Okami on PSN for $20, and I'd say it was worth the full twenty.
Up next: more Torchlight 2, more inFamous 2, more Civilization V. Might also (finally) start Valkyria Chronicles this weekend. -------------------- |

Been playing both Ys: the Oath in Felghana and Origin lately. Even on normal difficulty, the bosses in both of these games tend to mean business, and dealing with them have been both fun and frustrating so far.

Semester's about to end, and I'll have to cut throught the dust that's gathered on my XBox (not a metaphor... here's hoping it works!). (I keep on wanting to play something new (might get Assassin's Creed II or III or finally get into Dragon Age), but every time I start to play something new, I just want to pick up ME again. That danged series is taking all my time.

I was just recently introduced to Guild Wars 2. I'm not a fan of MMORPGs, but Guild Wars is absolutely wonderful and the story keeps me interested. We also picked up a second copy of Starcraft II so my husband and I can play together. He's shifting my attention from Zerg to Protoss. For console I've fallen in love with Shadow of the Colossus all over again.

Ah Shadow of the Colossus it loves you and will never leave you, it sure hasn't left me.
Currently playing Payday: The Heist, because my friend is obsessed; gets home from work, sends me a message saying " pehdeh nao ", plays for hours, eats, plays again, goes to bed, repeat. For at least two weeks now.. It is kinda fun, we're always looking for team members that won't panic the minute enemies appear.. Oh and Cave Story :3 !! I'd recommend this to the entire human species xoxoxox -------------------- www.youtube.com/blinje The victor sacrificed the vanquished to the heavens |

Amazingly still playing Borderlands 2 whenever I have the chance. I built a new PC a couple weeks ago, and now it's extra beautiful, but now I have the lovely extra added effects when you open up an outhouse to look for treasure. Urk.

Final Fantasy Tactics, Final Fantasy VI, White Knight Chronicles, and Battlefield 3... not a big fan of the "new style" Final Fantasy games, but oh how I love the classics.

A friend got me into Eternal Darkness. We completed it in two evenings. What a damn good game. Not been captivated so quickly in a while. I even made a detour to the Egyptian exhibitions in the local museums out of some odd interest brought about by that game.

Beat Eryi's Action a couple days ago.
It's one of those platform hell games. Though it seems to be a very close homage to Syobon Action, a.k.a. "Cat Mario". As such, the platform hell is less about demanding perfect reflexes as it is about problem-solving in a platforming format. In fact, you don't need perfect reflexes at all. You just need to be willing to patiently think through a problem and put the pieces together. For me, a person who kinda hates the concept of platform hell, this was surprisingly enjoyable. And it was pretty amusing, even though I could see a lot of the traps coming. Some of them still surprised me. FYI this game is in the current Groupees bundle, the "Build a Greenlight Bundle". Currently playing Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway again. This is easily one of the best and best told stories I've ever seen in a videogame...ever. I'm not exaggerating either, I have never seen another game reach the level of quality in its writing, characters, and direction like this game has. Don't hurt the BiA franchise sports the smartest and most dynamic gameplay of all the WWII shooters.

I just finished Valkyria Chronicles a few minutes ago. I had originally planned to finish it before the new year, but I was thwarted by working overtime for several days and by the wedding of some jerk.
Look, if you own a PS3, play this game. Combination of 3rd-person shooting and turn-based strategy, great characters and storyline, beautiful soundtrack by Hitoshi "I did the music for Final Fantasy Tactics" Sakimoto, and stunning visuals that look almost hand-drawn. VC instantly moves into the top tier of strategy-RPGs for me. I'll be buying VC2 probably within the next few months. I need more. I'm going to MAGFest this weekend, so the next game I'll be playing is... a bunch of games. For now, I must sleep. -------------------- |

I meant Blinge Odonata. Or maybe he's responding to your praise of Valkyria Chronicles. Whoops
And on second thought, between the service outage on the metro (well, being replaced by bus), Magfest being in the midst of a (specially-scheduled) class, my still having a cough from being sick earlier, and the fact that I forgot to bring my copy of Scurge: Hive for virt to autograph...maybe I'll just wait until next year. I'm definitely really interested in going, but I think this is just a bit much. Oh, don't worry, I've heard great things about Valkyria Chronicles too and it's definitely on my to-play list. I just haven't gotten around to, say, acquiring a PS3 and the game.
Anyhow, back on the topic of what I'm playing right now... ...well, what should I play right now? Finish my games of Fate of the World or Recettear? Or start something new...say, Adventure Apes and the Mayan Adventure? Or maybe something retro like Duke Nukem 1? I'm going to be leaving for MAGFest in a few hours, but the only game thing I'm bringing myself is my PSP loaded up with Monster Hunter on the off-chance there's some people hunting in the handhelds corner. I'll be playing arcade games and multiplayer all weekend.
For when I get back, though, things will get interesting. I think I'll finally fire up Persona 4 (which I've wanted to do since finishing Persona 3 this past summer) and maybe see what this Skyrim business is all about. I received the PC version of Skyrim as a Christmas present last week. -------------------- |

Here's to MAGFest being awesome!
In gifting news, and high-profile WRPG news for me, someone gifted me Dragon Age: Origins. Yet I still haven't played Deus Ex that someone else gifted me over two years ago... ^^ I know that La-Mulana is a very complex and involved game; it's gonna get me to sit down with pen and paper and jot down clues and draw trap maps and stuff. Since class just started I don't think it's an appropriate choice for the timing. Maybe it should wait until summer...? Been playing Borderlands 2 in short, semi-daily bursts for the past month and a half or so. I'm certainly enjoying it, though I'm not sure yet whether I like it more or less than its legendary predecessor. Revisiting people/places from the original feels so surreal. I do really like a few of the newly added characters; Hammerlock is cool, Tiny Tina is fantastic, Mr. Torgue is pretty hilarious, etc. I'm about to go into the Info Stockade, and I'm pretty excited/frightened to see what happens next.

I just beat Duke Nukem 1 episode 2: "Mission: Moonbase".
I played episode 1 ("Shrapnel City") way back as a kid. Beat it back then. One of my friends had lent me all three episodes. The first, which also happens to be shareware, was the only one that worked, though, so I beat it repeatedly. I am very fond of the old DOS platformer style of the first DN game (all three episodes). They did make a DN2 that had a totally different style but I didn't like it as much. And I haven't played any of the later DN games--DN3D, DN Forever, etc. Duke Nukem 1 (all three episodes) and 2 are available on GOG.com, which packages the games together with a starter and preconfigured to use DOSBox. This is why I like GOG.com. (Besides, it's DRM-free.) -------------------- Check the "What games are you playing at the moment?" thread for updates on what I've been playing.
