Indie DB, which is basically run by the people behind Desura (which is basically Steam for indie games), is holding their third annual Indie of the Year awards. They took nominations on over 5500 games and the you can now vote on which of the top 100 games you'd like to see become IotY.

You can log in using a Desura account (which you should get, for free, and it's not restricted-access like a free Steam account is, and you should get it anyway because it lets you get Indie Royale games). I think you can also log in using Steam or a couple other methods.

You can vote for as many of the games as you like, I think, but I suggest you vote for La-Mulana. I've talked about that game here before, but just as a summary again:

La-Mulana is an immense metroidvania game that includes at least eighteen areas with unique atmospherics and nine bosses each with its own distinct battle theme and is quite possibly the largest metroidvania game in existence (relative to the size of the player-character).

The original MSX-style freeware version of the game was released in 2005. Then the developers re-did the entire game, redesigned most of the puzzles and the bosses, updated the graphics, touched up the music, and released the new version as a WiiWare and PC offering. Both were scheduled to be localized for English-speaking audiences (the developers are Japanese), but their collaboration with Nicalis fell through, while they worked on the localization independently, so they ended up getting the English version published via Playism this year.
