Ok, lets say you got all the main characters in the game (not counting Gogo or Umaro). Which side quest is your favorite before heading to Kefka's Tower.

Mine would have to be when you go to Doma Castle with Cyan. It is just creepy as hell with everything going on plus I think WrezSoul is one of the hardest bosses (as long as you don't use the X-Zone cheap trick). Plus I have always wondered, how do all the characters jump into Cyan???

I've always immensely enjoyed the quest for Gogo. Also, I dunno if you could call it a sidequest persay, but I really like getting 5 merit awards happy.gif

One of my favorites was always Fanatics tower... Im not a big magic user, id prefer to bash my enemy with a weapon then cast I spell, and so this tower is like a 180 in the style I play my game. Offers a good challenge. I still remeber my first time, I thought I totaly owned the boss dude untill he like ultima'd me or something at the end when I realized none of my party members had life3 on..

I guess I'll go with either Cyan's dream sequence, because I fancy him, or Gau's sequence (I wouldn't have my nick without them wink.gif ). No, seriously, both sidequests are really moving, and end up nicely, so yeah, that would be my choice.

*Slap!*
How could I forget Gau's!?

I said Doma Castle and Hidon for gameplay value, but I also say Doma Castle and meeting Gau's "past" for story value.

Mine is always the sunken/forgotten castle underneath Figaro Castle in WoR, I love it because there's a decently useful esper (

Odin/Raiden
)there are several bosses to work on, and you get to see some images from the War of the Magi. Also, Step Mine, my personal favorite Lore, can be gotten there IIRC.

I liked Cyan's dream but my favorite was finding and defeating all the dragons.

I liked to go through Owzer's House. Spooky mansions with lots of traps & illusions always interest me.

It was fun to watch Sabin getting his Bum Rush from Duncan too.

Cool creepy music, weird crazy enemies, and all sorts of cool goodies to pick up while you're there.

Doma Castle is immensely emotional and Owzer's House is nice and creepy. I liked every sidequest except the colloseum, but the fanatic's tower gets my vote. I had such a fun time hanging out in my hot bedroom in the summer losing my temper losing to the MagiMaster after the whole tower, and then I went on a rampage and drained all his magic and watched him die! Ha ha ha. However I never used the gem box much because I felt it made the game too easy. huh.gif

I agree with Spoony Bard about the Sunken Castle, and for the same reasons. Odin is always one of my favorite summons in the FF universe.

I like the DoomGaze quest. Sure, it's a pain in the butt to chase him down, and it's a pain in the butt to fight him, but man...the payoff is great. I do loves me some Bahamut. smile.gif

I also like the Owzer quest, even though the boss fight at the end is a complete b!tch. And I like the Gogo and Umaro quests, because they're just so insaaaane. tongue.gif I hate the Fanatics' Tower, though. That was the only time in the game when I resorted to the Moogle Charm.

For me it would have to be the Sunken Castle, for the same reasons as Spoony. I also enjoyed the challenge of Edgar's Castle. Those oversized worms sure put up a fight. Anyway, I find Figaro one of my favorite places anyway.

I agree, seeing people in the past having to deal with the same thing you are doing, well at least you aren't alone having to defeat a crazy magician.

And I think that is the first place you see Pugs, such great enemies.

I'd have to say the "Gerad" quest. I love Edgar's constant denials and the nonchalont way he reveals himself after all that trouble are great.. It still seems silly that Sabin doesn't say much to him though. The Engine Tentecles were fun to fight too.

That's a tough one...Doma Castle closely followed by Odin's Castle.

I'd say the sidequest where Sabin goes off and finds Cyan, Gau, and possibly hires Shadow, takes a ride on the 'Phantom Train', jumps off a Waterfall, and uses one detached helmet to let three people swim currents halfway across the world.

*murmers*

What? That wasn't a sidequest?

phoenix cave. best-planned dungeon ever imo. I don't like strago; he was killed on the first hit by hidon and I didn't ressurect him the rest of the fight. *sighs*

Hmm,it would be a cross between Doma Castle (Can't go far without Cyan's cleave!I got mine by leveling up,but did Doma Castle anyway.I wanted the Aura Sword at the time.)And I also enjoyed the part in Kohlingen when you go into Rachel's old house and the place where she is frozen in time (In the basement in one of the houses.)

My favorite was fanatics tower but I have a love hate relationship with it. On the one hand MagiMaster was the hardest boss the first time around (At least for me).
Possible spoilers: highlight to view
PearlDragon was also a nice surprise.
The enemies got progresseivly harder as you went through too (unlike some of the other sidequests). I loved all the prizes that you got too, some of the my favorite stuff in the game.
On the other hand, When you fight MagiMaster for the first time you get beaten bad and even if you win he does somthing completly unexpected(That dirty cheat). The enemies near the end use some super spells that, if you didn't prepare for, killed you right away
Possible spoilers: highlight to view
Meteor, Metron and Quake.
Plus, on top of all of that this super long sidequest had the only BAD music track in the game. Well, at least in my opinion.

Doma castle was cool, but fanatics tower was awsome, I love useing magic and the music plus the general ominous-ness was way cool.
