Agreed. I spend so much time trying to kill him. Argh! So I just rushed on through with X-Zone. But I find that was pretty boring. So I'm trying to beat him with out it too. ![]() |

The Wrexsoul battle is pretty tough without X-Zone. But 4 hours? Man, you must have killed off the wrong party member every single time!
Personally, I like things that are a little out of the ordinary, like multi-party fighting, Doom Gaze, and even that guy in the previous paragraph. However, my favorite battles are very traditional - the two Atma enemies. -------------------- My soul is bound to the Mistress of the Afterlife, and my fealty is to her always. My favorite would have to be the battle of Narshe. It's the first time you actually get the chance to stop the Empire, whereas you're always running from them beforehand, and you can't stop Doma's demise regardless of how many soldiers Cyan or Sabin & Shadow defeated. As for the battle itself, it's just so much fun engaging on three fronts, and the difficulty is perfectly balanced for that portion of the game. You also get to control every character you've gained so far at once, and they can all get a part of the action. No rediculously high levels or stats due to espers, and no godly weapons to keep you above the danger.

Most definatly the moogle vs. Narshe battle.

My favortie would probably be the fights where you get to steal peoples clothes. That was so hilarious. Watching that fat ass merchant turn into B.day suit. LOL

Other than the last battle, I really like the fights that happened when Cyan gets angry at Doma Castle : he appears as an invincible warrior, outmatching both Sabin and Shadow, always a little ahead of them and taking down everyone...Cyan rules!

I have to go with fighting the three stooges/demon's Larry, Curly, and Moe. The first time I fought them, I was halfway expecting Moe to start smacking around the other two.

I love the battle of Narshe, to me its where the game actually begans to jump into the action, I like the group fights. Mixing and matching characters with each other is a nifty thing.

I'd love the first dragon battle i won best. Cuzz at that point it was kinda hard trying to kill an ice dragon (i was low level+newbie) so i'd loved it. And i loved the first battle too, seeing the graphics boosted up a lot since ff V!

I love all the fights with Ultros, but my favorite is the one where Relm first gets to use her Sketch ability. It cracks me up. The one in the opera house is neat too--I love the concept of fighting a giant octopus ON STAGE--but I hate the part that leads up to it. Those damn Sewer Rats...
I like the Tritoch fight too. Any fight where I have a huge, obvious advantage is fun. ![]() And I also enjoy the Ifrit/Shiva fight. Nice mix of strategy and paranoia. Call me old-fashioned, but I kinda miss the old days of the FF games where you had to prove your strength to an Esper before it would let you summon it. It seems to me that FFVI started a trend where you didn't have to do that anymore, at least not as much. Edit Oh yeah...I also loved the one against Dadaluma in Zozo. Mostly because, the first time through, my finishing move was Sabin's Meteor Strike. That cracked me up. ![]() This post has been edited by Syndarr on 5th September 2003 22:16 |

I'm with the majority--I like the Ultros fights. I don't like the fights that require some goofy artificial strategy to win, like having to wait while Whelk is in his shell...stuff like that.

Ahhh yes, the battles with Ultros were quite nice. The opera house was my personal fave. I still think that the first time I played the game, the Phantom Train battle was the coolest though... I mean, it was kinda cool fighting a battle while running from a train.... kinda...

My favorite boss is MagiMaster, the war against Kefka in Narshe for Tritoch and Ultros and Chupon and then right after that you fight that IAF plane type thing. I also like the way youe fighting it in the air.

The battle for Narshe was dominant! The mixing of multi-party war waging with an already excellent battle system was almost too enjoyable, especially when you have an army of characters you've already grown to love.
Defeating the MagiMaster was quite a relief. Am I the only one who drains all of his MP and then lets him just flop over dead? -------------------- Get me off this Disciplinary Committee so I can play any FF except for FF8!!! |

[FONT=Impact]If you're rating you're favorite battle by what part in the series it seems the most exciting, I'd have to go with the Floating Island battle with Atma, the first time I beat the game. For one, the music was had an Apocalyptic vibe, and the Atma design was not only incredibly awesome, but intimidating as h3ll.

I really like that battle against Goddess in Kefka's Tower right at the end. She's not very difficult at all if you equip a couple of ribbons and peace rings and she only has 40,000+ HP which isn't that much compared to the other sub-final bosses. Plus she looks really cool!

Favorite battles:
Leo vs. Kefka 8 dragons Hidon Most hated battles: Wrexsoul Goddess I really enjoyed the music to the final battle (especially the third tier). And battling Ultros was very amusing, but not my favorite. "I'm just a stupid octopus..." Wow. He's so dum he hasn't even realized that he's dum. MagiMaster. I just love kicking his butt with all my non-elemental spells. And then his dies and kills everyone with his Ultima and my big brother is watching and it is so dramatic when they all just come back to life again. Like, "We made it! We're alive, we saved the day YAY"
I also enjoy pretty much all of the Eight Dragons. Their weaknesses are very intuitive so I do not need to scan them, which made me feel like such an experienced player my first couple of times. Basically anything where magic works well. I have always loved using magic. |

I'm not sure which battle I like the most, sometimes the boss battles can be a bit irritating, but rewarding none the less. I tend to enjoy the battles more when it's heavy hitting based. (examples military camp near doma, and the phantom train.) for some reason i always thought my party was super badass when there is a Martial Arts Master, Mysterious Ninja, and Expert swordsmen.
