Whats the big deal about Genji Gloves? It seems that a lot of people like them, but whats the point? Most skills in the game, if they use your weapon at all, only use the first one equiped. The Fight command almost always does less damage than these skills so whats the point? You lose a bunch of defence by not having a shield.

The Genji Glove is very useful. There's some relics you can equip with it that help your defense by countering not using a shield, or better yet you can equip a player with a Genji Glove and an Offering. The Offering allows a person to attack 4 times. So with the Genji Glove and the Offering you can hit your enemies 8 times. Later on in the World of Ruin, that can be a handy combination.

plus, if youre at a high enough level and using the right weapons, the amount of defense you lose is negligible for the most part.

Strengthen your characters using Raiden esper (Strength +2) for example, and equip Offering and Genji Glove. Yahoo! 9999 damage x 8!!!

I like to give Edgar it and the black belt (sometimes muscle belt), then equip him with the drainer and atma weapon. That way, whenever he is attacked he attacks back, draining from the enemy whatever hp he lost, then attacks with the atma weapon at full strength. Therefor, Edgar doesn't have to bother attacking on his turn, and can focus on supporting the other charecters without worrying about his own health. I don't perfer the Genie glove offering combo, because I find offering works best with Setzer's Fixed Dice, and Genie glove doesn't really help him that much (though it makes his attack sequence so long and annoying that you don't want to fight with him). |

I generally give it to Locke, since he doesn't have an attacking skill like Blitz or Tools and I don't tend to use him as a healer.

well... simply... most skills (except a few) has max damage of 9999
but with Genji Gloves in late game (or mid game if u level up wisely) it can hit 9999 * 8 even if u cant hit 9999 in one hit, just getting 2000 per hit can get u over 12000 damage in a turn. |

Genji gloves are supreme: kill an enemy in one turn and he has no chance to retaliate, and it doesn't use MP. Confirmed. Techniques are not affected by the Genji Glove relic. Why would it be, really?

I tend to give it to Terra, equipping her with the two best blades, then later give it to Sabin for use with his claws. I find that Sabin using two claws is much more effective then one, and it doesn't hurt him that much more, really.

I actually just use it on Sabin usually. I don't know, it just seems natural to have two claws. Prob being slightly influenced by the fact wolverine has 2.

LOL. I also choose combat options based on whether or not I want to sit through them. I've never used the genji glove and offering together. I usually give the genji glove to Sabin (probably because I was used to Yang having two claws), or to Celes (if I don't care about her shield), and combine it with something that raises attack. I guess that is a pretty stupid strategy. -------------------- Veni, vidi, dormivi. |

MAN!
![]() The genji glove is greatly efficient if you combine it with the right weapons: Terra: Genji Glove/Atma+Exalibur(or anything that deals mondo damage) Or Locke: Genji Glove/Thief Glove/Falchions - steal rate up, damage done while at it. Sabin: A classic - two claws. On him or Cyan it doesn't even need extra the Offerring. You can give that to Terra or anybody else with the Atma. -------------------- "I fell off the mountain of words at around the 10,000ft mark. lol i tried using gengi glove/sneak ring/ and two thief knives
![]() Using Atma and Elemental weapons with offering (gengi glove to add effect) isn't bad idea either. Although offering makes each attack weaker, Atma and Elemental is not affected (that's my guess, i may be wrong.) -------------------- I will be there... |

wouldn't you use theif glove instead of sneak ring as second relic?
otherwise, your theif knives arnt used. their steal is upon attack, and with just steal, they dont do anything. -------------------- Shhhh! I'm trying to hear the voices! |

Genji gloves are one of my favorite relics... If you take a little time on the floating continent in wob, you can steal em from the dragons to get more of em.. The obvious combo is later in the game with genji glove/offering.. My favorite combo is to equip all players I can with gengi glove/black belt. Espeically vs pesky enemies, they attack you, you attack them back with dual hits... Battles are usually over before you even use up any of your attacks. Its also good when your leveling a single charector, for if your against 3+ enemies, its not like you have to wait your attack 3+ times, they attack you, you attack back with 2 weapons... they die... Easy battles...

i like to give weapons/armor to characters based on what i think suits them best, in the same fashion people us a genji glove to make sabin like wolverine/yang.
i think edgar definitely gets excalibur and the regal crown (as the king). i model terra after the greek godess athena: thunderblade, aegis, minerva armor. and i model celes (the magi-tek knight) as a paladin knight: illumnia, paladin shield, hero ring. |

I personally don't use Genji Glove or Offering, but I've heard that since the AtmaWeapon only factors in your level and HP in its damage, GG and Off. won't decrease its attack power (the way they will with other weapons). I remember that there was another weapon like that, but I can't remember which one. Now it would be cool that the person who has the GG/Off combination gets Locke to steal the second AtmaWeapon from Kefka's obelisk's third tier and equips both AtmaWeapons for the final battle...massive damage 8 times in a row, ignoring defense and attack stats!!!
By the way, eqiup the Offering and ThiefGlove--wait, *scratches out ThiefGlove and writes* "TreasureHunterGlove"--on Locke to make him attempt stealing 8 times in a row. I fine the most effective use for the Genji Glove is on Locke and Savin. Right when you get the first Genji Glove from the Returner hideout you can steal Mithril Claws from the Rhino things and have Sabin dual wielding Mithril Claws at the beginning of the game. Later on when you get a second one, you can equip 2 Hawk Eyes on Locke and put him in the back row. I like to watch him go crazy and throw them both at the enemies for insane damage early in the game. I don't use the Genji Glove + Offering combo however because that is just lame slaying everything with one character.
