Since Kingdom Hearts is meant to be an entirely different universe, and CoN does not cover Kingdom Hearts, I'd say it's probably no. The only ways that woud charge would be if CoN managed to create a KH section, or if there was an 'Other FF Games' section in Fanfiction.

Since you IMed me about this already (must have been an urgent issue), I'll repeat: we have no issue with adding screenplays to the site as fanfiction - my wonder is whether the public will actually want to read one instead of a more standard narrative. It's a rhetorical question, for all of you who would surely love to debate it in this thread.

Oh, that's easy, what you do is, once you have written in a chapter or the whole thing, copy and paste the text from your word processor document into a new post in the Site Submissions section.

We've never come right out and said it, but we don't want any submissions that can't be made more family-friendly just through the use of disclaimers. The site tries to err on the side of caution and keep most content at "PG-13" or below, and given the very nature of the subject matter of yaoi, I've never seen any writer actually keep it even close. It's a judgement call to the staff, and there's no way to pass judgement without seeing the content. So I won't say no, but I will say the odds are not good.

I'd say no if it's graphic. You'd be better off implying it and not being explicit in any way. Make it obvious it happens but don't actually show it. If need be, edit your stuff where you have to, and be prepared to further edit it. To make sure, you should probably PM me an edited version of any fic that had sex in it and I can try and get it sorted from there. Try to keep it PG-13 as has been said above.

Ah, so this is where I submit fanfic to have it put up on the site? Nifty.

One question, though. Is it absolutely necessary for me to put the text of the work in a post? I have a (finished) trilogy of FFIV fics that together come to something like 40,000 words. If I were to put it in a post, I'd have to go through and use BBCode to italicize anything that's italicized. That would be a lot of work, which would be ultimately pointless since the editors will want to reformat it to go with the site anyway. May I just link you to HTML documents of the story instead?

Sure, I can reformat it to be posted here if that's what you guys require, but if it's not any more trouble for you, it would save me a lot of work just to link you to the thing.

I don't think there's any problem with that, or simply posting the fic(s) as an attachment in notepad or whatever written as HTML code. Really would need to see the actual thing to work from there for a concrete answer I'd think.

It currently needs to get converted a little from a forum post to HTML as it is, EG making square brackets into angle brackets with find and replace.

The next update that will include things put into site submissions today will probably come before the end of this year if there are sufficent numbers of fics completed or submitted in time.

I think I'm allowed to say the current update has been held back slightly to coincide with something else. That something else might hopefully also provoke further fanfiction writing amongst CoN users.

Or you could post two versions - PG-13 version and R-4 version. as two separate fanfics, and as ffvi was rated teen, no one SHOULD object to fanfics that are pg-13 being inapropriate becasue that would mean the game was inapropriate too, and as thus, you souldn't have played it. I think that in the gba release, they should have kept all of the oringinal swears form the japanese game translated, like ""kuso!"" (something like that, it's japanese, i learned that from watching Naruto, and hearing Naruto say that, while the fansub would say "Damn it!", or "Damn" or "Shit!" ""Kuso"" basically means that.) I don't know a single video game nerd, myself included, who isn't at least a litttle hentai..., so most people wouldn't mind an r-rated version, unless you are still a teen and your parants watch over your shoulder whenever you are on the computer. sucks for you, then!

Question: I have a chaptered fanfic, but it isn't finished, I don't know when it will be, and I have only a very rough estimate about how long it'll be that's already changed a few times. If I want critique on it before I submit it to the site (which I also want to do), do I put it in Your Creations, because it's not ready for the site yet, or Site Submissions, because I want it to BE on the site when it's done and don't want to waste room?

Also, it has swears, so I'm going to have to do a little editing. Besides the obvious (the F-Word) which swears are not allowed in a PG13 fic?

You can just start posting into site submissions if you wish.

I personally think swearing being censored in a work can sometimes detract from it. Those words hold power and realism, but too often they're seen as nothing but purile and childish because people abuse them. That's the problem. For realism, people swear. In the west of Scotland, there's barely a conversation without someone dropping the f-bomb in pubs and the c-word is practically used as a comma compared to the American distaste for that rude way to refer to a woman's private parts.

Either try to avoid the heavy hitters (like F & C) that never pop up in PG-13 films, or just ensure people are well warned in advance that there is possibly rude content whilst keeping it to a minimum.

Well, the swearing wouldn't be turned into "f***" for instance, more like just changed from something like "ass" to "butt" or whatever. I do want it to be tasteful! :D
