I am trying to find out if the team is still working, and if I could help out.
I know it has been a few years, but I would still like to try and contact the team if possible. Thank you |

I really hate to speak for the team that was once working on this, but I think I have to in this case - the project is long dead. Like happens to most of us eventually, the team leader, Corda, got older and a real life and a real job took over. He and I are Facebook friends, and I will tell you, he has not spoken of the project in several years.
You should really consider it dead, sorry. I know that you had a strong interest in it - from going back through your posts, I see that they have all been about this game. Maybe you (either of you) could try contacting them and "open-sourcing" their project files and ideas, so someone else could continue the project.

Quote (Spooniest @ 24th October 2011 16:26) Qu'est-que ce? What is "Forgotten Story?" http://fls.cavesofnarshe.com/ It was a project to develop a prequel to Final Fantasy VI. Originally it was going to be a ROM hack, and then I believe they intended to do everything from the ground up. It never actually produced a demo. I have to respectfully decline to be involved in any efforts to resurrect or recreate the project, GMH. I firmly believe that if they wanted to take any steps to release what they had, they would have taken steps to do so. They've had almost nine years, and it would seem to me that whoever is left of the group probably have moved on long ago. That's just me, though, and I never had any direct involvement in the group, so don't give any further weight to my statement than just that. -------------------- "To create something great, you need the means to make a lot of really bad crap." - Kevin Kelly Why aren't you shopping AmaCoN? |

Hmm...I see what you mean.
How about this: Could you get in touch with Corda to see whether he might be at all interested in releasing his project files? It might be just that no one's ever asked, though I don't remember for sure since it's been years. If he's willing to dig up his dusty files, then it's possible that the project could be hosted by and developed on our forum here, and becoming a CoN collab project. That said, I have nothing I can contribute to the project at the moment, but I wonder if that would be a nice thing to host on this site, assuming it does get crowdsourced and hosted here (and as long as it's not C&D'd by Squenix of course). I'd just hate to see the project and its ideas be lost to the dustbin of the internet. I mentioned this thread to him already a few days ago, and that's probably going to be the limit to my involvement. If he comes over here or wants me to announce anything with regards to your suggestion, then more power to him; otherwise, I consider the issue closed and I'm not going to badger him over something that is in his past.

Okay, fair enough. I won't bug you about it anymore.
