How have I never heard about this before?
Quote In the original Super Famicom version of Final Fantasy VI, a bug rendered any item as being equippable as a helmet, with Edgar's drill tool being the best option. Dissidia: Final Fantasy, already rife with Mythology Gags, saw fit to include a drill as being the headset equip for the 'Machine' equipment set. From http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/AscendedGlitch What is this bug? Is this a Japanese-version-only bug or something? Never even heard of this running joke before either. -------------------- Check the "What games are you playing at the moment?" thread for updates on what I've been playing. ZED's documented this bug a long time ago, though I've never heard about the Drill Tool as a helmet being the most popular incarnation. I understand a lesser version of the bug exists in the PSX game, though I haven't seen it myself.

Does Zed have that documented on his site? I looked for it briefly but didn't see anything obvious.

Well there's this: Quote The Equip Anything bug - Although commonly known as the Equip Anything as a Helmet bug, this glitch can work with any Equipment slot except relics. To equip anything to a certain slot, eliminate all equipment that the character you want to equip can use (i.e. if you want a new weapon, eliminate all weapons from your inventory the person can equip by de-equiping their weapon and selling, throwing, or using everything else), put what you want to equip in the bottom right-hand slot, go to the character's equip screen, and use Optimum, Best, or whatever it's called in FF6j or whatever translation you're using. Nothing specific about the Drill, just the bug in general. |

I assume that wearing a drill on your head would make you look like a tool.
