Anybody have any thoughts on it? Tips, opinions, etc.? I just bought it a few weeks ago and I think it's great!

I love this game. Not in small part due to the fact that it made me cry like a small child at the end. A small, fetal child with no mother. I really should get back to my file, and finishing maxing out my stats. And doing all the missions. And fighting secret final boss for best equipment...yeah,

Yeah there are alot of missions to do. The materia fusion is kind of confusing... there's so many combinations!! I love the part where Zack meets Aerith, I was really looking forward to that part!

I've managed to play it for all of about a half hour so far. I'm sure I will have another chance on my next business trip, though, so I'm looking forward to it. I find the battle system a little awkward and hectic for its own sake so far, but I'm sure I'll get used to it.

Having loved FF7, I actually pretty much hated Crisis Core.
I do not really know why but Crisis Core simply seemed to me to be a chore to play. However, on another note I should say I HAVE completed Crisis Core. |

I've been meaning to try this game out for YEARS but never got around to it for various reasons.
First, it was that I didn't own a PSP. Then, it was that I hadn't played FFVII. And now, it's there are SO many games I want right now, I want to have money for them. -------------------- "When we think there's no hope left, we keep looking until we find some!" - Claire Farron |

I think that the combat is kinda silly, with the slots system and everything, but it definitely moves quick, has neat attacks and animations, and kept me interested for an extended period. It also gives you a greater appreciation for Zack, who's a very likable protagonist.

I dislike Crisis Core alot. I dislike how Zack takes away alot of what is meant to be Cloud's game, and the rock and roll, death-metal type music and the repetitive battles, that were almost the exact same battles over and over again. And I disliked Angeal and Genesis alot. I also dislike the fact that the changed the original FF VII storyline with this. I want to sell my copy really badly. -------------------- Currently playing Chrono Trigger !! Currently looking forward to Don't Know. |

I think that Crisis Core is the FFVII compilation game that really breaks the stereotype of bad FFVII compilation games. I think that the story was really well done; especially, of course, the ending. Like Mike said, it is capable of making the player cry shamelessly. I can understand the motivation behind the "it takes the emphasis away from Cloud" arguement, yet I think there was really no other way to tell the events leading up to FFVII- Cloud was a blank state mentally upon the opening of the original game, and thus would be a poor source for insight on the events leading up to it. In addition, while FFVII was Cloud's game, it certainly wasn't Cloud's world. There are important stories to be told by the other important people within it.

I extended my playtime during my last business trip last week by a factor of about 6x, and I'm really hooked on this game now. I've gotten used to the combat system and find it pretty fun, and like others, I find Zack more and more likeable the more I play. I've even had my PSP out in the evenings to play while I watch TV this week, and that's something I almost never do.
Can't wait to get some more time to knock off some more missions and advance the story further - I've just now gotten to the point where the "enemy" (to avoid pointless spoilers, and since I'm not sure who the true enemy might yet be) have come into Midgar and the Shinra building. -------------------- "To create something great, you need the means to make a lot of really bad crap." - Kevin Kelly Why aren't you shopping AmaCoN? |

Right now I'm a little more hooked on FFVII, but I have been doing alot of the Crisis Core missions. I feel so accomplished when there's no new ones popping up

I beat this game this afternoon.
Possible spoilers: highlight to view WHY CAN'T I STOP CRYING. This game has absolutely devastated me. I'm just amazed at how well they told the story - you should know what's going to happen going in, but they use the first half of the game to build Zack up as a really great, likeable character, and it even has somewhat of an upbeat feel to the game. Then Nibelheim happens, everything is turned upside-down, you remember what's going to happen, and it kills you. Fantastic game overall. Makes me want to play FF7 again. I ended up 100%ing it because that's how I roll. When I found out that you can steal a block of 99 Phoenix Downs from Minerva in one shot with the Brigand's Glove, Materia Fusion was all over. It just got super broken. -------------------- Hey, put the cellphone down for a while In the night there is something wild Can you hear it breathing? It's great though. As long as it succeeds in some sort of emotional response, I consider it a success.
...Isn't it sort of retcon-y though? Or am I getting it confused with Last Order? ![]() -------------------- "Cavefish is delicious, but only if cooked." |

Cried alot. Enough said. ![]() Did anyone see at the end of the game where it mentioned the composer Nobuo Uematsu and in brackets next to it it said smile please??? Made me smile! ![]() I thought Cloud's crossdressing in VII was funny!! It's a picture I can't imagine, if they remake I really would love to see that in particular.
