My least favorites are:

1:Cloud:His moping and depressed attitude style doesn't make me care about him as a character,in fact i feel he is overly melodramatic like a angsty teen who is being pulled out of bed on a school day.

2:Sephiroth:He is just plain vanilla boring for a villain.He is a pretty boy who suffers from an oedipus complex and makes him for a lacking villain.

3:Vincent valentine:I don't like his moves and he seems to not have much of a personality.

mine would have to be aerith because yah they say that holy saves it but no it doesnt you get to stare at it while you fight bizarro sephiroth then you dont even get to use it plus holy later on becomes a regular and somewhat crappy spell in ffx its bullshit my meaning is aerith contributes nothing then dies but then again she is the only one whoever made cloud have a damn emotion so itd have to be rufus if not her

I don't see how one person could dislike Aeris without disliking the game as a whole. She is the emotional backbone of the story, the character we are supposed to care about. If you don't care about her, then that is a major portion of the game you don't care about.

yah i was just kind of venting after beating the game

as far as the storyline aeris's role was played well, but when it comes to battles she is at the bottom of my list, i dont think i've ever gotten her leveled up passed 20 before she dies, i only use her when im forced to.....i don't dislike her, she is just etremely weak.......

A charcter i really hate is cait sith, stupid cat is so annoying, annoying theme music annoying little bounce when it walks, betrays avalanche, but on the other hand i love its limit breaks

Hmm i actually liked rufus as a villain.

He was cold hearted and rather arrogant.He had a monumental ego.As for others:I think sephiroth could have been a good villain but he didn't appear much and as much as he may look bad ass,he rarely appears.I also think he could have been a bit more interesting.I think cid on the other hand was a good character.I actually felt sorry for cid and still do because he never got to go to the moon.

Heh heh. Aeris is the most useful character in the game, probably because she dies halfway through it. She has the highest base magic stat, and, her limit break "Great Gospel" fully heals the entire party and makes them invincible. You don't have to use an item to teach it to her either, I usually grind Aeris's limit break right after Midgar so I can get Beta from the Midgar Zolom and roflstomp all the bosses in the first disc with the most broken limit break and materia in the game (Great Gospel and Enemy Skill.)

My least favorite character is Barret. Whilst I like all of FF7's cast for the most part, Barret is just obnoxious and annoying. He swears a lot, loses his temper, and just has a boring personality. I don't hate Barret (he's no Gau or Quina!) but I think they could have done more to improve him as a character. Cloud is another character I'm not too fond of.

My favorite characters are Yuffie, Cid, and Tifa. Cait Sith and Vincent are cool and Red XIII is just meh.

I like Tifa, she's strong and interesting, fights with martial arts , has the childhood memories with Cloud etc.
I can see how you wouldn't like Aeris because of her weakness at the beginning but her limit breaks are the best for protection when you get them all

Cloud is so messed up, his minds a mystery it's an emotional puzzle ready to be unravelled, etc. he's got a cool sword, spikey hair that is gravity defying, It's just Cloud. He's also very cool.
Barrett does annoy me a little because he talks like Mr. T. I like that he can have a long range weapon it's very handy but he isn't that great (kinda have to admire his devotion to Marlene though)
Red XIII is fun, doesn't do that much, good fighter though, Bugenhagen being his grandfather and knowing stuff is useful.
Cait Sith is annoying the way he hops and his bad fighting skills, annoying music but his info is useful too.
Vincent is there to just look cool and mysterious, I like him because he fights with a gun and turns into awesome stuff for his limit breaks.
Cid is well... Cid!
Yuffie can be annoying but I still like her I don't know why.
Sephiroth is scary, (sort of) evil looking and well very demented obviously, perhaps not much of a villain to fight?

My least favorites

1 Yuffie. She's extremely annoying and self centered and she thinks that she's the one that has suffered the most, when really people like Cloud, Vincent and Tifa have suffered more in terms. Also she's obnoxious and overally hyperactive and rather rude towards other people.

2 Cid. He's so rude and disrespectful towards women and so abusive towards Shera. Not cool at all.

3. Barret. I've never been fond of his personality. Sorry Barret.

Tifa or Yuffie. I think Yuffie's ok but if she was voice acted it would be a lot more horrible. Tifa is one of many issues I have with the game. She's just a bit flat.... characteristically speaking, considering that nearly everyone else goes through a trial and doesn't necessarily overcome it. She's just a bit bland. Her character does involve a lot with Cloud and that's all good particularly in the lifestream segment. However she herself doesn't have an equivalent story arc. I'll go with her as least favourite.

That was, for me, the most surprising aspect of the game's story. I began not really liking him, but he does change. Yet, the brilliant thing is, he doesn't change completely. I think it's an excellent bit of development.

By far Vincent is my favorite character, but I also cripple myself since he is one of the hardest to use characters (along with Cait Sith). In playability, Vincent's limit break of being berserk and using elemental attacks (which really screw you in some fights) and Cait Sith's limit break Slots (which does have a chance of instant death to the party, which REALLY screws you) both characters can be considered a least favorite.

In the story and world of FF7, I would say my least favorite character is Zach. He's supposed to be in Soldier, fights Sephiroth and isn't obliterated, and healed in the basement of the Shinra Mansion... and then he goes and gets himself shot by a couple of lame soldiers on the outskirts of Midgar. Aerith is lucky he never walked back into her life.

I will take you on your word. I have yet to play Crisis Core and I simply felt Zach was very underdeveloped in FF7 for how big of a role he played in Cloud's past. It would be great to see his character given his worth
