Self explanatory.

I personally like this one. Because fighting off an alien invasion with the Stones can't be topped.

That was a pretty epic finale. Awesome 80s slow clap.

Anyways, this is a great question, but a tough one!

I really liked the final stage of Dead Space, for one. How it brought things to some nice closure and revealed more of the conspiracy therein.

Also, even though hate that game, I likes the final level of FFVIII a lot. The challenge you're presented with really makes you have to work and think your way through it to the game's final boss.

World 8. Super Mario 3. Complete and utter bull-honkey. But, in spite of such blatant BSery, it was an awesome challenge and so satisfying to beat.

I would have to agree with SMB3's last world.

I have horrible memories of SMB3, but it is awesome. Watch the end of Game Informer's super replay. It's pretty epic. http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive...eplay-smb3.aspx

That last area in Shadow of the Colossus is very awesome.

I never quite made it to the end of Shadow of the Colossus (it would help if I actually owned the game), but every level I have done is pretty awesome.

I was floored by the last level of Braid (not the epilogue, the Princess bit). I enjoyed the rest of the game, but when I got there, I thought everything else was just lead-up to that moment.

I find the number of posts in this thread to be shocking, given that there really is just one true answer:

Rainbow Road.

Trust me, 1) it's epic, and 2) you want to finish it because (refer back to #1).

And since we're at CoN, give it up for Kefka's Tower. And I don't care if I get banned for this, but Rainbow Road sucks... okay, I'd really like not being banned... unless you were joking, and you don't like it either.

This game

While almost all of the levels in this game are very difficult after stage 3, this last level really puts on the ultimate show. Very long and grueling, but felt soooo satisfying to finally master.

I just remembered, the final boss of NARC! That is a completely epic end to a completely epic game.

The "Jumpin' Jack Flash" stage in Elite Beat Agents. Even though I genuinely hate how much this word is overused, the only word I can possibly think of to describe it is "epic".
The build-up to the song ("E...B...A....E...B...A....E. B. A! E. B. A! E! B! A!! E! B! A!! E! B! A!! E! B! A!! E! B! A!! E! B! A!!"), the ending of the stage (long, unskippable cutscene notwithstanding), the song itself (EBA made it one of my favorite songs)...I absolutely love playing the stage. I was so happy when I finally S-ranked it in Sweatin' mode.

Edit
Oh...I just noticed that Smash Genesis already posted it. Heh.

I'm slightly surprised that no one's mentioned Final Fantasy VI yet. I thought the way they did it (spliting your characters into three parties, each one having to fight bosses and clear traps for the others) was really inspired. I also really like the BGM in Kefka's Tower.

The second Wizpig race in Diddy Kong Racing stands out in my mind as well. It's the kind of level that requires failing multiple times so that you can get a feel for where the traps and balloons are.

Wait, is that the Rolling Stones' Jumpin' Jack Flash!?! Awesome. Never played it, but if it is, I agree!! Because anything containing a Rolling Stones or Beatles song is automatically awesome.
