Hi folks, been trying for the past hour or so to get Beta on the 3 remaining Enemy Skill materia. I've tried the original that got me my first beta but the stupid thing doesnt seem to wanna cast it again and i am getting seriously narked, any tips on getting Beta a second time around or am i missing something? 7W |

From what I remember, the monster only uses Beta as a counterattack once it's low on HP. Have you been reducing its HP or just waiting for it to cast it?

Yeah you have to have the Midgar Zolom to lose a set amount of health before he casts it. He 'stands up' with his head much further in the air before casting it, and doing other attacks. The best way to get his health down is Demi or Poison, otherwise he'll die.

Just to add, he won't cast Beta until he's knocked someone out of the fight with his tail, and the recipient of the 'tail swipe' attack is always the last person to attack...so make sure that's not the guy with the Enemy Skill materia! In my most recent playthough I found out this even is the case when it's poison damage that brings him over the threshold, Barret used Bio on the Zolom, the poison damage caused him to boot Barret (who of course had the E. Skill materia). Not fun.
