Happy 2011, everybody!
(Remember, it's technically supposed to be pronounced "twenty eleven", not "two-thousand eleven" or "two-thousand and eleven") What are everyone's resolutions for the first year of the new decade? Mine are to get in better shape, to get on the Dean's List for my college, and to practice my instruments more often (I haven't touched my clarinet, flute, or tenor sax in roughly six months). -------------------- |

I've never made a New Year's Resolution, ever, I think. The way I feel... there's plenty of time in the year to fail to live up to promises. Why make all of them on one day? .....Also... well, there's nothing I plan to do, except remain lazy... maybe that's my resolution.

I need to finish my projects. I've currently got three play adaptations I'm part-way through writing, I've got two original horror plays I'm trying to write, multiple song rewrites, a fan fiction, a painting for my girlfriend, a standard novel, my FFVII speed run, two game mods and numerous other assorted ideas. The annoying thing is that I'm great at starting and putting a lot of time into things but I get distracted usually when I'm about to either finish it or settle into a inspired groove. The FFVII speed run I linked is a perfect example. I've basically done it, but two laptops failed on me and I've not gone back since then because I've been less obsessed. The same thing happened to a lot of my work. I've backed it up so I didn't lose it, but I just haven't gone back to it since replacing the two laptops. Aside from the play adaptations I've nearly finished everything that I listed.In this new year I'm going to get at least half of it done and try not to start something new without finishing the old stuff. I might start my list with the fan fiction because ever since I came to the CoN I've wanted to write something for the section. -------------------- Scepticism, that dry rot of the intellect, had not left one entire idea in his mind. My new years resolutions are pretty standard, I guess: To admit when I'm wrong in a situation. Even if I'm in the middle of an argument. Even if it makes me look bad, and even if admitting I was wrong would get me in a lot of trouble. To practice cooking more, and even try using ingredients I've never cooked with before! Like pork haha To stay commited to projects I undertake, even if they're silly things (like styling my hair a certain way). I just get bored too easily and stop in the middle of so much stuff, it's chaotic haha. -------------------- You're telling me that there's no hope. I'm telling you you're wrong. |

I never really come up with New Year's Resolutions, but for this next year I would just like to be better about my schoolwork. I wasn't quite as efficient as I could've been, so I'd like to be a bit more effective with my time. You know, so that I have more of it to waste later

I haven't made a New Year's Resolution in about 5 years, but I just started making myself a 101 in 1001 list, which list I think amounts to the same thing.

I never really have an honest resolution, though I tend to wake up from every New Year's Eve promising myself that "I'll never drink again!" That never holds for more than a day or two, though. Beyond that, I just hope to make 2011 as productive and interesting as 2010 was.

I know I'm late with this but mine are...

I think it was two years ago that I set that as a sort of quasi-resolution, not that any of my other ones aren't quasi-resolutions. I got pretty far into the year until exams came and I remembered why I like them so much in the first place, they're great for unwinding in minutes.
