Has it only been a month? Back in November I offered Regressia for free to members of the CoN. Recently I've been fixing up a game I made for a contest, called Casual Quest. Pretty stupid name, eh? I was working on a deadline, so cut me some slack. Eventually I'll shift the name over to "Illuna Adventure", or something like that.

Enough about the name, let's talk gameplay.

It's a casual game for 1 to 5 players, with an unlimited number of players spectating or rotating in and out of play. Gameplay takes place in waves. Each wave presents a different map with a hoard of monsters that have to be defeated in order to progress. Every 10 waves you fight a boss, and then the region changes (different map graphics, and different enemies). If the game isn't full, anyone can join at the start of a wave, and leave whenever they want. So you can jump in for a couple waves on your coffee break, or start at wave 1 see how far you can get. Enemies will get progressively harder until about wave 140, so it holds up to extended play, too.

Combat is a lot like Zelda or the Mana series, but squad based. There are 35 different classes, and they interact in unique ways. There are your standard healers, knights, mages, and archers, but then there's other stuff like vampires and necromancers.

Give it a shot, and I'm sure you'll enjoy it; it's very addictive. And reply here with your BYOND user-name, and I'll give you a month subscription so you can play with all the coolest classes over Christmas. If anyone can think of a good bonus just for CoN members, I'll add it (I was thinking of doing a moogle class, or something like that, but I don't hold the copyright on those :/ ).

If anyone wants to set up a specific time, I'll make sure a good server is hosted and we can all get together and I'll show it off. If you know how to use the BYOND system (or get to know it over the next couple days) you can send me a message when you're online and I'll join you. My user name is iainperegrine.

Enjoy!

So it's like Crystal Defenders, or something like that?

I haven't played Crystal Defenders, but from what I understand they aren't very similar. The combat in my game is like a Legend of Zelda game, and not turn based as in Crystal Defenders.
