Hi, to all 5 other Lore lovers out there, I want to ask, what's your favorite Lore? Mine is Step-Mine. Â Quick strong single enemy attack. :E

Grand Train, it was one of the only ones I bothered to get.

My favorite is Clean Sweep. I think it looks cool and it deals a decent amount of damage to all enemies. Revenge is also nice when the old man takes a beating.

GrandTrain is always a great one to do. But other nice ones are Quasar (for the look), Step Mine (effective), Clean Sweep (cool-looking), Big Guard (very effective, and quick), Condemned (always funny to do that on the enemy), plus a few more. "Lore" is a nice command, and very funny to use. Takes a lot of MP though.

Despite my name, I always thought Quasar was awesome. Great name, decent damage, and impressive animation. It just gets overshadowed by Grand Train, since they both do the same thing. Grand Train just does it better.

I'll have to jump on the bandwagon here. My favorites include Grand Train, Quasar, and Step Mine. They all provide good damage at a decent cost. Strago was never really a mainstay of my party, but his possession of these spells made him a decent choice overall.

Quasar is my favorite, because of the time it took me to get it. And it was well spent time : it's awesome to look at.

I like Stone. StepDamage (as it's called in my game) is a very close second, though; Stone's efficiency seems to drop off a bit later in the game, while StepDamage is reliable throughout pretty much every fight, and it doesn't have that tendency to miss. But Stone still gets my vote. Damage, confusion, and the chance to see Strago fling rocks at the enemies' heads.

True, and you can also learn it from Dark Force in Kefka's Tower, plus perhaps a few more enemies (Heck! That Dark Force enemy in Kefka's Tower has got all the lores doesn't he? ![]() -------------------- People say I'm a slow learner, but I type fast! |

if you want cleansweep, there is that enemy in the cave to the ancient castle that does it. In my game, it's called Euno. But personally I would say Grand Train just because it's useful. But exploder is funny. Inflict damage, then drop dead in a second.

From my attack doc:
157: Pep Up Restorative Hits one ally MP cost: 1 Restores HP/MP, zeroes out HP/MP of and removes caster from battle Lifts Dark, Zombie, Poison, Petrify, Condemned, Near Fatal, Mute, Berserk, Muddled, Seizure, Sleep, Slow, Stop Unblockable Retarget if target dead, kills caster. Special effect: 20: Affects HP/MP, zeroes out HP/MP of and removes caster from battle (Pep Up) MP isn't zeroed if you target the caster with it, but that would be pretty dumb, since they still die.... As for what good it does, usually zero since removing the caster is very rarely an acceptable tradeoff, especially with Pep Up's removing the caster from battle, making their revival impossible until after the fight.

Hmm...
Grand Train and Big Guard! The most powerful offensive Strago can ever get (save for the greatest of MAGIC spells) and the best defensive magic (shell + safe at once) -------------------- "I fell off the mountain of words at around the 10,000ft mark. Of course, Grand Train is the best but the one I used the most was 1,000 Needles. The reason is cause when I get it everyone is barely attacking at 1,000 hit points except for a few so at the time when I get it is a great help. By the time I get Grand Train I am barely using Strago cause I hate him and it is near the end of the game.

I liked step-mine the best. It did _lots_ of damage as I always spend ages levelling up which means lots of walking and lots of damage!

I like that lev ? peral, even though i forget who teaches it o.o but step mine is my favotire ^-^. Also, i dont remember who said this, but the dark force in kefka's tower gives ALMOST every lore. With the exception of Grand train, damn Hidon must have stolen it o.o Evil, ugly beast thing, lol

It's possible to get ForceField and Quasar from Dark Force, but it's a very very low chance. Better idea: Doom's second attack pattern leads off with ForceField, and Goddess will use Quasar at random.

Big Guard, Pep Up, ForceField, and GrandTrain are the four Lores Dark Force does not have. Quasar is hard to get from it since it could potentially cast Exploder the turn before Quasar could be used.
Also, CleanSweep is only available with Sketch, Rage, Control, Charm, etc. Dark Force doesn't normally use it. This post has been edited by Master ZED on 10th October 2003 13:13 -------------------- |

Note also that your wonderful site here actually does have this information, and three minutes of reading could probably save some people two hours in posting and waiting for a response.

My favorite lore: GrandTrain. I tended to use StepMine before I got it, though.
By the end of the game, and armed with GrandTrain, Strago (as I judged) was the second most powerful magic user in the game, ranking behind Terra. He's always #11 on my Kefka's final stand list. -------------------- Check the "What games are you playing at the moment?" thread for updates on what I've been playing.
