Quote (AlphaMart @ 7th December 2010 16:26) gya haa haa was Heidegger if i am not mistaken, and kya haa haa was scarlet. i find gya haa haa easier to spell lol. What was that Rufus quote though that summed up as- i will not rule with money and power like my father but with fear- or something like that. That just confirms what i think about rufus then. And wow thats one heck of a speech. -------------------- We are stardust. Our bodies are made from the guts of exploding stars. Neil Degrasse Tyson. |

Just played through the "parachute into Midgar" section, and as the majority of people know,
Possible spoilers: highlight to view Hojo actually tries to help Sephiroth by overloading the Sister Ray Dno if that needed to be spoiler warning'd... Anyway, did he do it because: A- He loved his only son and wanted to make him happy? B- As a scientist, Hojo wanted to see his experiment (Sephiroth) become a success? C- By injecting Jenova cells into himself he was compelled to by Jenova/Seph? Just curious what people think, and it seems appropriate for this thread. |

Quote (AlphaMart @ 7th December 2010 11:26) What was that Rufus quote though that summed up as- i will not rule with money and power like my father but with fear- or something like that. "That's right. I'll let you hear my new appointment speech. …Old man tried to control the world with money. It seems to have been working. The population thought that Shinra would protect them. Work at Shinra, get your pay. If a terrorist attacks, the Shinra army will help you. It looks perfect on the outside. But, I do things differently. I'll control the world with fear. It takes too much to do it like my old man. A little fear will control the minds of the common people. There's no reason to waste money on them." One of the best speeches in the game, as far as I'm concerned. -------------------- "If art doesn't risk upsetting expectations and challenging its audience, it can only stagnate." |

Professor Hojo is one of those villains that you want to strangle. He's probably the sickest villain in FF history, and he had no real motive to justify his actions either.
