Just wanted to let you all know that Tiddles and I performed a bit of minor surgery on the forums today. It's really no big deal, it was just something that needed to be done to work out a long-standing kink on the news submission system. In fact, you lot won't even notice it, I don't think - however, part of the fix is that links that you put in your posts will no longer open a new window. Since everyone with half a brain now use a browser that has tabs, this is really no big deal: just middle click links like most people have been doing for years already.
This will impact only posts made from now on. Thanks for understanding the changes we needed to improve the site as a whole! |

Do...do untabbed browsers even still exist? I mean I guess someone might be using some old version of internet explorer or something but...but why would anyone do that to themselves?

Thankfully, they don't exist all that much. Only half of one percent of CoN's traffic over the last month was from IE6. I wish some of the other sites I work on were so lucky.

I don't think I care either way about this new development.
But it's nice to know that the forums are still being worked on. By the way, is it intentional that the newest-created thread in the News section always appears at top, rather than the most-recently-replied-to thread? Yes, it was always set that way because it was our only archive of old news topics, and that allowed you to browse through old news in order. It's probably not so necessary now that the site its own archive browser.
