Those all materia are worth a fortune,so if you master enough of them, you will be getting over 1 million gil.

Okay, but if you do enough AP farming where you end up with enough mastered Alls that you're willing to part with some, why wouldn't you already have enough Gil to not care?

True, but if you're sneaky and you put All on a double-growth weapon or armour then play through the game regularly, you'll have a mastered All during the Huge Materia escapades. No grinding required. This post has been edited by sweetdude on 17th July 2010 16:46 -------------------- Scepticism, that dry rot of the intellect, had not left one entire idea in his mind. Yeah. I'm still playing VII on-off to get all the Mastered materia, and I'm also working on mastering a crapton of All materia to see if I can max out Gil. I'm at a point where the counter is messed up on the Load screen, but the menu screen's count was okay. I have 109,248,260 Gil.

By the end of the game ranger, you will be mostly maxed out in materia anyways, and if you aren't shame on you for not putting effort.
This is a method of maxing out gil very quickly at end game for last moment purchases like:for doing chocobo races and buying stuff and making sure you have enough gil. Sure, you can do this earlier, but it will be a lot more tedious because of ap limitations. Everybody knows that magic urns are the best for ap grinding,or they should. -------------------- We are stardust. Our bodies are made from the guts of exploding stars. Neil Degrasse Tyson. |

If you are equipped with triple gain weapons and you fight two Magic Urns at once, that's 6000AP for the entire fight. Sure, it's an Elixir, but you can steal them back from monsters. Or W-Item it. But I digress.

Chronologically, the Junon tunnel with the alarm, the Rocket Town forest, the Sand Worms, and finally the Mideel area were my favourite places to level. That's where I would get the AP from. I haven't tested it but I guarantee that it's faster to just fly to Mideel and do all the grinding there than go all the way down the crater for the Magic Pots. In the swampy bit of the Northern Crater nearly everything gives out tons o' gil, especially movers at half a million a pop. Add that to all the the All materia you're mastering and maxing your gil should be easy. It isn't though

Next time, though, don't forget that CoN has a huge site that isn't in the forums. When I was at the end of the Northern Crater I already had two or three mastered All even.
And the only reason you would need to sell any of them would be for a Gold Chocobo really. And even then you may have enough money for that already. |

If you got the growth materia,it shouldn't be too hard to level up materia anyways.
I mean:how much ap was it to master them? 18.000? 20.000? something like that. And with tripple growth, that means you'd be getting:3000 ap per every magic urn,and 6000 for 2. Get enough urns, and you master 1 materia real quick. Keep doing that a few times and you master it: I do think this is useful as you may just do it for maxing out stuff,i love to max out all my stuff and get every item in the game. I wouldn't recommend trying to do it on the first playthrough though,it kind of ruins the fun of a game if you try on the first playthrough and a perfectionist in this way. -------------------- We are stardust. Our bodies are made from the guts of exploding stars. Currently playing through again and I definitely had to sell a couple mastered All materia to breed Chocobos.
I had to buy Chocobo Sage's greens that max all the stats... Are there cheaper ones that affect the chocobos the same? |
