I've been hearing rumors about FFX ripping off many plot points and characters from Grandia II, a very good game from DreamCast. This is the first amount of evidence I have seen for it. I have not played FFX, but those listed are all true about Grandia II.
Is it true? Moderator Edit Link contains possible FFX Spoilers, please view at your own risk. Edit There are Grandia II spoilers too. It is supposed to mean the GameFAQs forums. They rank up with the battle.net forums.
I would not trust the average forum user there to watch a nickel for me. EDIT: Yes, what said about FFX is true, but you could do the same thing for Super Mario Bros. 1 and Sonic 1. It's quite simple. Well I guess that explains why FFX didn't measure up to the standard to previous FF's. Not that anyone would expect it too.
This has not been the first time a DreamCast game has been ripped off. The Poor story from Blood Omen 2 and infact basically the entire game, graphics and all had been ripped off from a game that never made to release called Chakan. Below is a link to see the stuff. Link to material |

I wasn't laying a cheapshot on the DreamCast rather the lack of originality on FF10's part. Still there a lot of things that aren't original these days.
