Quote (laszlow @ 6th August 2009 17:48) Well, it's unfortunate, but Starcraft II isn't going to be out until 2010. I think many of us had already expected this, but it's disappointing anyhow. They're citing difficulties in implementing the new Battle.net 2.0 service as the biggest reason for a delay. But in happier Blizzard news, their big convention is going down in about two weeks in Anaheim, California. In the wake of this SC II delay it's unlikely that they're giving away Starcraft II beta keys, as many people were hoping, but there are sure to be updated demos present for Starcraft II and Diablo III and at least one big announcement. My hope is that we learn the identity of one of the unrevealed Diablo III classes. I wasn't very enthusiastic about SC2 because I was sure my laptop wouldn't be able to run it. http://starcraft.incgamers.com/blog/commen...ments-revealed/ If this is genuine then I'm now super-enthusiastic. I think I'll be able to run it now. -------------------- Scepticism, that dry rot of the intellect, had not left one entire idea in his mind. Me on the Starcraft. |

Quote (laszlow @ 19th July 2009 10:49) Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3 are probably not coming until 2010. The beta hasn't started for Starcraft 2, and I'm pretty sure that D3 isn't coming out until 6-12 months have followed the release of Starcraft 2. We'd be lucky if we get Diablo 3 in 2010 at all. But to add to that Blizzard duo, I'm definitely looking forward to the English releases of Dragon Quest IX, the PSP re-release of Disgaea 2, and trudging through my enormous PS1/PS2/PSP backlog. This is me about 8 months ago. I'm still very much looking forward to Dragon Quest IX, Diablo III, and Starcraft 2. I've been playing Disgaea 2 PSP off and on for the past several months, and I'm really enjoying it. Right now the games I'm looking forward to the most are those aforementioned three, plus God of War III, Infinite Space, and Super Street Fighter IV. All three of those are going to be day-one purchases for me, the first two of which both come out in the United States on March 16th. ...I better get to finishing Uncharted 2. After playing Red Dead Redemption at PAX east, that's easily at the top of my anticipated list, followed by Mario Galaxy 2.
HL2:E3, I hope to god they announce something, anything about that soon. Also, that new Gears of War 3 trailer gave me chills. They always have really good trailers for that series, even if they are a bit hokey. Metroid Other M is also coming out fairly soon, and BattleBlock Theater (Behemoth's new game) is still set for 2010. Miyamoto said that the new Zelda Wii was "tracking" for 2010, but that was some time ago. I hope we at least get some gameplay details at E3. -------------------- "We're not tools of the government or anyone else. Hm...The Last Guardian, The Last Story, Persona 5...mostly games that aren't coming out for ages, I guess. Which'll give me time to buy a PS3.

I heard rumors that Last Guardian might not even be ready of 2011.. which makes eyes water and my throat well up.

Either I'm jaded or damaged by the last few games I bought, but I am not looking forward to anything really. Games seem to be getting easier and easier and favoring flash over substance, which upsets me. I think I'll just stick to Contra and Megaman 2 for a while, until the old school bug goes away.

Well, after finishing and loathing playing FF13, the only game I'm looking forward to is Red Dead Redemption. For some reason, I'd like to take a stab at GTA meets Deadlands...

I've been playing the beta of this game endlessly. I cannot wait for the full, retail release because it's going to be the last thing I ever do, until Diablo 3, which will be the next last thing I ever do. I'm looking forward to Halo: Reach and Red Dead Redemption. Both look amazing and the beta for Reach has me even more excited for this fall. Also looking forward to Naughty Bear in June and Fallout: New Vegas (said to be this fall). Trailers look promising for both.

Quote (Starsoul-klr @ 25th June 2010 01:26) -and suprise, suprise King of Fighters XIII. King of Fighters XII was such garbage that I have a much lower opinion of the series now. It's a shame, too, since XI was actually pretty good. I never got to finish playing Paper Mario, so when I eventually get a 3DS that'll be one of the first games I get. Not sure when that's gonna happen, though. For the short term, I'm looking forward to playing Dragon Quest IX, TWEWY (got a copy from a friend a month or two ago), and a bunch of older PS3 games that came out before I owned a PS3. -------------------- |

The only game that E3 has me drooling over is Portal 2. After watching all the videos I'm completely hooked. I even played through Portal yesterday in one sitting just to immerse myself back into the portal jumping. It's really brilliant, can't wait for the new one. This might be the first game I ever pre-order.
Still looking forward to DX3 the most. However I won't pre-order it incase it's pants. -------------------- Scepticism, that dry rot of the intellect, had not left one entire idea in his mind. Me on the Starcraft. |

Gran Turismo 5 is coming out this fall and for reasons I'm not disclosing, I don't drive. Since the series is famed for both graphics and physics I figure if I get a decent wheel I can prepare for the possibility that I might end up needing to in the relative safety of the great indoors. Also hey, racing, it's an impractically expensive hobby.
Also I hear it'll be 3D ready which is interesting since I took the jump in getting a 3D T.V. since we'd been planning to get a set to put in the living room anyway and have nothing to actually use it for yet. I wanna see what the corporations think is worth putting on expensive glasses to watch television for... It had better be worth it 'cause doing something's more effort than nothing and laziness is what the telly's all about.... Another consideration is that I sorely need to extend my PS3 library to justify actually having a PS3 and maybe do a little showing off to boot since the few I downloaded aren't exactly all that demanding. Not that I have many people to show off to but it's a novel thought to keep in mind just in case. Finally I want physical media to live on for purposes of potential transference, absolute preservation and general tangibility. While I'm not certain, I think there's a good chance it might be sold in actual disc format unlike the other games I bought. I don't think that's too far fetched of an assumption. Perhaps it's too safe? ![]() This post has been edited by Tonepoet on 22nd July 2010 02:21 -------------------- |

Now we're in the new year I've realised how few 2010 games I played. My game backlogue is currently halted on Condemned 2 which I'm still waiting to play and finish (no Xbox at the moment), Vampire: Bloodlines which I've been slowly working through, and Fallout: New Vegas which I'll buy after the other two are finished. I need to finish Fallout before March.
This year I'm still really geared for Deus Ex 3. The new gameplay videos and information has turned any scepticism I had inside out. It's due out in March and I'll be preordering a copy for the extras I'll get, including a unique mission called Tong's Rescue. Usually I'd be groaning at the thought of bringing Tong back no doubt stupider and with a weaker voice actor (DX2) but what the hell I'm interested. It might not even be Tracer Tong for all I know. If this game pays off I'll be much more interested in Thief IV. Diablo III is also high on my list. It doesn't just look good, it looks like the first game I've seen in a while that'll actually be epic, like Gladiator epic. I haven't thought of a fantasy as epic since the days of FFIX and WarCraft III. I'll probably not both with Torchlight 2 in favour of this, but who knows. Other than that, Gears of War 3 and Portal 2 are the only others I can think of. Overall I reckon this year will be full of really good games, assuming they come out in time. The only killer title I want is DX3, but last year there really wasn't an equivalent. Portal 2 - The original was fun, but due to its short length it felt more like a bonus for those who bought Orange Box than a stand-alone game. Valve has said that the sequel will be much longer.
Half-Life 2: Episode 3 - I dunno if this counts since we have no info on it but it will supposedly wrap up the Half-Life saga. Batman: Arkham City - The sequel to the best game of 2009 will be darker (which says a LOT) than the first game, generally improved combat-wise and it will also have a more open world. Okamiden - I loved Okami (admittedly, I've only played the Wii version) and I'm happy that the people at Capcom are working on a sequel. Just seeing Amaterasu running around in the trailer made me d'awwww. |

Admittedly, I don't play a lot of games, and don't even know what's really coming out this year, but for me it's Portal 2 and Pokemon Black & White (although I'm going to wait for the "third" version, so to speak, a la Yellow, Crystal, Emerald, Platinum).

Dragon Age 2 - Despite some reservation about some of the info released in previews, I've already preordered this. I look forward to receiving it in March.
Mass Effect 3 - No specific date released yet; last I heard, it'll be ready to go by "the holidays." That's all at the moment. -------------------- |
