I'm looking to play a psONE RPG and I saw Grandia is available for download on PSN. Saw a couple of videos over at youtube and it looks like Xenogears, the graphics that is, and I might download it. Should I get it? or should I get Wild Arms? I already have the FF's. Any suggestions?

They're both good, and I'm pretty sure they both only cost $5.99 US, which is a hell of a deal. Is it really such a stretch to spend $12 when new games nowadays cost between $40 and $60?
Grandia is longer, has more characters, and (IMO) a better battle system, but the characters can get annoying (don't get me started on Sue) and the voice acting is legendarily bad. The skill and magic learning system is also pretty ace. The storyline is really nothing special, but takes a few surprisingly dark turns toward the end, if you're into those. Wild ARMs has a lot of charm, but the polygonal visuals haven't aged as well as Grandia's mix of polygons and sprites. But visuals aside, the game is oldschool excellence, and each of the three characters uses a unique and intriguing skill and upgrade system. The storyline, while having a lot of charm, is pretty typical RPG weirdness. -------------------- |

Wild ARMs 2 and 3 are two of my favorites games ever, particularly 3. It has a great story, great characters, great visuals, great gameplay...there are a lot of sidequests that you can do when you get closer to the end of the game, but it's not confining or overly-linear on the way there. Wild ARMs 1 is also fantastic, though the first time I played it, I stopped about halfway through. I gave it another try later on and finished it.
I have not played any Grandia games so I can't give an opinion there. -------------------- Hey, put the cellphone down for a while In the night there is something wild Can you hear it breathing? I would give Grandia a try, I really enjoyed the games myself.
While I really haven't played Wild Arms, I really can't tell you to download it or not. -------------------- |

I'd suggest Wild ARMs, simply because the story feels cleaner. It's not as typical as Grandia, though Grandia is an amazing game as well. I just liked the western feel of Wild ARMs. It is also a much simpler game, fewer characters sure, but the one's you have feel genuine and not forced into some popular mold. If I had to choose it would be Wild ARMs followed in a couple of weeks by Grandia, depending on your level of disposable income.
