Piano for eighteen years, voice for pretty much forever, and bass guitar for about six years before I stopped (not out of boredom, but because I was too lazy to cut my nails XD).

Perigryn - I did Joseph in Toronto when I was eleven! I'd just barely missed the Donny Osmond run, but it was still good times. ^^

I can't play any instruments, but that hasn't stopped me from putting out a couple records and endless demos. Psychedelic folksy stuff. I know the rudiments of playing piano, but that's about it, would love to learn for real someday.

Haha! Awesome. Oh Donny...

Yeah, it's pretty good times, very campy, though, slash, my director's kinda' crazy... which is really driving me nuts, which I'm really looking forward to the show's end so I can move out west to Vancouver and really pursue my acting career.

Doing any shows now?

I've played bass for about 5 years now, and I do some vocals, mostly screaming type death metal stuff. My brother-in-law and I are trying to start a band but drummers are hard to come by around here

I've been playing bass since I was in Grade 7, and I'm in year 2 of Uni. tongue.gif

I usually practice whenever I have free time.
RHCP = massive influence (Flea and whatnot)

I've been playing guitar for about 11 years.
Not really a shredder or anything but I've gotten pretty good at playing what I like and just riffing general stuff when I'm sitting around bored.

Mostly I wanted to comment on the beauty that is the Gibson pics in here... WOW! That's pretty much all I can say!

I play the piano, and informally the harpsichord as well.

I'm currently learning the organ.

I also sing, informally, and write music sometimes.

For the last year or so my main focus has been the whistle. I've got a variety of tin whistles and a Ukrainian sopilka that I've been putting to use in a folk ensemble. We have gig next Saturday actually, the fourth or fifth I'll have performed in with them.

I've taken to collecting instruments in general, some of which I can play and others of which I can stare at. Acoustic guitar is my favorite - I've been playing for ten years or so - though its grown rusty (moldy?) over the past year due to my focus on the whistle. I played/performed sax as a kid and have played bass live. Everything else I just tinker with. I can pull off a lot of Irish folk tunes on mandolin, though not well enough to perform yet. There is currently a goat skin bagpipe in the corner of my room. I can't make sound come out of it at all.

My favorite guitar is my Cordoba Gitano D-5, gypsy jazz, though Django's ears would bleed to hear me. I get a huge kick out of doing folk punk music, and can be heard annoying party-goers with acoustic renditions of Dropkick Murphys, Flogging Molly, Pogues, and Against Me! songs from time to time. I break acoustic guitar strings on a daily basis, which is expensive and probably not what people like to listen to. >_> I only use Clayton 1mm picks, those really skinny ones.

I played electric guitar in a grunge band for about two months last year, but it didn't pan out because the lifestyle just didn't suit me. I wish I could play piano.

Vocally I've been trying to develop a more gravely voice, with some success. I sing along with Tom Waits in my car a lot and frighten people in traffic jams.

My family and I went to Hawaii this past Christmas, and I became interested in the ukulele while we were there. Fortunately, my birthday is roughly a month after Christmas, so I was able to get one!

I gotta say, I really love it. I greatly prefer it over guitar, since I find it much easier than guitar (also, I'm pretty damn bad at guitar). Novelty value is always a plus as well, as no one expects the Spanish Inquis-I mean, no one expects someone to plug an acoustic-electric ukulele into an amp and proceed to play the Pokémon theme song.
I've been meaning to get a tenor ukulele - which is larger and more guitar sounding - for some time now, but the one I'm looking at is about $350, and I work part-time, not making much more than minimum wage.

That said, thank heavens I'm in college and still live with my parents.
