So guys, what are the little things in life that make you happy? I'll go first
Peppermint Tea with two cues of sugar or having a girl run her fingers throgh my hair. and don't post stupid grievences, or bitch about how there is nothing that makes you happy because I'll club you like a seal if you do. -------------------- At times one remains faithful to a cause only because its opponents do not cease to be insipid. Hey hey hey! I'll have you know Ilike getting clubbed with seals! And bitching just happens to be one of the small things in life that make it worth living. How do you like that eh? So wat'cha gonna do 'bout it...punk? Come get some! Anyway for me it's skipping stones at the creek back home. Every once inna, I'd just wander down there and start grabbing stones by the river bank and maybe talk to the neighbors if they were on their porch. Haven't been able to do that for awhile now...used up all the good stones. -------------------- |

Lying on the bed thinking...
A good, long, warm shower... A good pizza... A good burger... Getting a good laugh... Inu Yasha... Being with friends... A good, lazy day of rest... Feeling that I'm writing a good story or drawing a good pic, whether it be roleplaying or otherwise, in spite of my lack of self-confidence... A gooood night's sleep. Music
the littlest thing that'll change a sore mood to serenity or a mad mood to calm, or even if I'm in a good mood makes it a better mood.... Slip in a cd and just listen to the g00d music... and I"m at ease. Listening to the bass and the guitar and drums and vocals.... for most days, completely makes it worth while. also, just slamming on my bass guitar completely takes me out of anything that may troubling me. it's those things that really make me fell good Edit Also, seeing 1,000 posts made by me in my 2 and half years at CoN makes my day today This post has been edited by Sabin on 24th September 2003 19:26 -------------------- "When I turn the page The corner bends into the perfect dog ear As if the words knew I'd need them again But at the time, I didn't see it." ~"This Ain't a Surfin' Movie" - Minus the Bear |

I like having tea after dinner, around 10.
I like the wind blowing fast in the night. Raindrops on the ceiling, while there's a fire in the house. Some smile in the subway, for a change. The feel of the sand between my toes. The smell of freshly cut grass. Walking in Paris, aimlessly. A cold Martini with my relatives. Just being silent, with my best friend around. And women, of course : they always do some little things that I like... This post has been edited by Mr Thou on 24th September 2003 22:42 |

Sheets that have been on the line. A new day with a beautiful sunrise. Laughing so hard it hurts. Being with my friends. A loving hug. A good cup of coffee. The smell of spring rain. The woods after it snows for the first time. the maple trees in the fall. When a guy plays with my hair,or tuches my face softly. Wild flowers. Music of course is probably number one.
But also: - when you ask a girl out and you're not sure if she'll say yes, and she does (today for example - eating a nice big meal (could be chinese, chili, soup, whatever. usually involves a meaty saucey main course with a staple of noodles or rice). - not having any homework for once - goldfish crackers (i eat half a bag a day about) - playing basketball (though im not good enough or in shape enough for varsity anymore - watching the Bulls, Bears, and most unbelievably notable, the Cubs! First place with only 5 games left!! - sleeping. very underrated. it feels so good just to go to sleep after a long school week. -------------------- The clouds ran away, opened up the sky And one by one I watched every constellation die And there I was frozen, standing in my backyard Face to face, eye to eye, staring at the last star I should've known, walked all the way home To find that she wasn't here, I'm still all alone -Atmosphere "Always Coming Back Home to You" |

The first thing the pops into my mind is music, but that's not a little thing in my life; it's the biggest thing.

Listening to a good, jazzy hip-hop album over a game of chess.
Climbing a tree. Getting in a hot shower after a workout in the rain. Playing a good pickup basketball game where we didn't have to stop to argue about anything. Eating Mario's Italian Ice while sitting on the windowsill over the street, watching people go by underneath. Smelling my girlfriend's hair after she gets out of the shower. Waking up and it being 30 degrees colder outside my blanket than inside, then realizing I don't have to get out of bed for morning practice or weightlifting. (that one's pretty rare.) Having someone tell me they liked my column. Whenever I finish a day of hiking or canoeing on a trip, and we've set up tents and everything, and I can just relax and enjoy the scenery with the kids until it's time to go to sleep. Finishing a race at Parkside (Hardest Cross country course ever) and dumping a cup of water on mysel, knowing I don't have to run up any more damn hills for awhile. (side note- my next race at Parkside will be the last of my cross country career. sad.) And, most importantly right now: Sitting on the couch watching a Cubs game, knowing there's a VERY good chance they are going to the playoffs this year. -------------------- Hip-Hop QOTW: "Yeah, where I'ma start it at, look I'ma part of that Downtown Philly where it's realer than a heart attack It wasn't really that ill until the start of crack Now it's a body caught every night on the Almanac" "Game Theory" The Roots |

* Finally nailing that new guitar technique after days/weeks/months of practice.
* Having a gig with my band in front of hundreds of people. Whoa! Adrenaline rush!!! * Really, playing the guitar in any way at any place. * Talking with people on CoN, or any forum on the net for that matter. * A good meal when you're hungry. * Listening to music. * Sleeping when you're tired, and knowing you can stay in bed as long as you wish the day after. * A good game. -------------------- People say I'm a slow learner, but I type fast! |

Leisure painting or drawing. Nothing that has a deadline or be submitted.
Playing with my turtles. Feeding my turtles. Talking to my turtles. Drinking tea. Oolong, green, earl grey (hot), jamaica (hibiscus), whatever. Driving Little L when I'm in the mood. Shooting things with my .22. Listening to music accompanied by candle light or insence. Especially when I'm the only one home. Watching a REALLY good movie. Talking on the phone to friends when I'm in the hablo-ey mood. Looking at the stars. Actually having time to be idle and being able to read. -------------------- kame, tortue, tortuga, schildkröte, tartaruga, turtle "Arthur Dent?" "Yes." "Arthur Philip Dent?" "Yes." Scratching my dog behind his ears and watching him go nuts with happiness.
Walking my dog, playing with my dog. Walking down a street with no traffic, alone, in the winter when everything is silent, and all I hear is the wind. Any time I spend with my friends, be it college buddies or friends I grew up with. A long, deep sleep. Playing with my cousin, who is now about ten, since I rarely get a chance to see him but enjoy all the time I spend with him. Video games. If the past is any indication of my future, I'll be a gamer until I die Going to the frat house that my brother is in, be it for partying or otherwise. I have the time of my life there, and I will probably be pledging next semester. Five minutes after a HUGE project was due, when I realize that a great burden has been lifted off my shoulders. |

This is my kind of topic.
Waking up and having the pleasure of just lying there comfortable without the worry of having to be somewhere. A couple of pick-up games with a group of friends, just some good clean fun. Creating something without having any pressure of impressing someone. Walking. Just kinda...walking, maybe talking to someone I enjoy the company of. A nice, long bath/shower. Falling asleep to some nice music. Yeah, I'll probably think of some more later. For some reason, I like talking about this stuff. The useless stuff that makes you happy. -------------------- I find your lack of faith disturbing... |

Quote (Kame @ 25th September 2003 15:28) Listening to music accompanied by candle light or insence. Especially when I'm the only one home. I should try that. As for me: An e-mail/letter from a good friend. A guy whispering in my ear. Getting re-addicted to a song I love. My cat curled up in my lap. My dog jumping into my bed when I'm going to sleep. And one that I take for granted: Curling up with a guy, and just lying there. -------------------- "I sat alone and I didn't care, I sat two years in the same old chair, I saw three roads but didn't know, Which way to go-go-go" My Coco, stellastarr* |

Thought of a couple more...
Giving someone a random compliment and making their day Making a PB&J with Chocolate milk like my grandmother used to make for me Seeing the Cowboys do good for a change Cruising down the street at 3am when fog is everywhere Catching an episode of a show that you really wanted to see but missed Playing cards with my close friends on a Friday night The Discworld novels Watching a classic movie with my girlfriend, our favorite is Casablanca and Leveling up my characters in an RPG while going to sleep -------------------- "My impersonation of an ordinary person was flawless." - Neal "Don't cry because it's over. First off, i'm gonna have to say music as well... metallica, guns n roses, zakk wylde, rage, zeppelin, it all puts a smile on my face.
nothing makes me happier than to play my guitar, especially when im on a good day, and realizing the 12 years since i was like 6 years old has paid off. on that note, playing with my drummer brings a smile to my face, we play off each other very well, and (i think) we make some pretty good noise together. snow. like 2 feet of it, and still coming down. somehow it never seems cold out when theres a lot of snow on the ground and theres nobody outside when you walk down the street at 6 in the morning before the sun comes up. snowboarding, especially when im all alone on a well-groomed trail. im not really much into sports, but this is where its at for me. and more than that i love to go sledding with the same friends that ive gone sledding with every year ever since i was little. it never gets old even after 18 years. working on my truck because its my pride and joy. i love putting the cargo nets on it, cranking some old skynyrd, and going swamping around where i live. theres not really much more to be said about that i guess. getting breakfast before school. girls who respect themselves without being arrogant about it. thats the only kind of person i can be with, i cant respect someone if they cant respect themselves. playing little gigs where people dont really know who you are. the dukes of hazzard. sitting down with my bass player after a good practice, tossing a steak on the barbecue at 3 in the morning and smoking a cigarette. smoking a cigarette while walking through the woods in the snow. hunting. driving in the rain. a good barfight, although that sort of thing is uncommon nowadays. someone always gets accused of being a racist somewhere down the line. root beer. the ocean at night. ill think of more. -------------------- You watch the world exploding every single night Dancing in the sun, a newborn in the light Say goodbye to gravity and say goodbye to death Hello to eternity and live for every breath Your time will come... |

-Winning the ball, from the guy who's been trash talking all game, with a hard clean tackle.
-The relief after doing well on a test that you weren't sure about. -Friday. -A cute girl smiling at you. -A clear starry sky on a cool crisp night. -Sleeping in late. -My dog licking my face. -The right music for my mood, whatever it may be. -Fat Don's (the only good food I get around here every week.) -The Bears not losing. -Watching a close, hotly contended soccer game. -Flawlessly pulling off a new move I've been practicing with my soccer ball. -Friends. -Laughing, at anything. -------------------- What would Zorro do?-Homer Simpson |

A few little things that make me happy are:
Sprite- Best soda in the world but I hate Sprite Remix (taste like skittles in water) Defeating a game you've been stuck on for ages. (FF5 for example) Being left alone in the house (NOW'S MY CHANCE TO GET SOME SPRITE!) Downloading something that costs money free. (Kazaa does this for me) That's all that I can think of right now. I'll post more when I remember more! -------------------- I am born from the shadows, I am skilled in the ways of the dark, I am the Dark Knight. |

wearing my fleece sweater when listening to music and i totally lose myself in some associated memory or feeling engaging in an intellectual debate with a friend when its cold outside and it nice and warm under the covers when there is some1 else under those covers to help keep me warm just drifting in thought and not being interrupted when a programming assignment goes smoothly just some of them -------------------- Shhhh!
