And the Barret date isn't really a date it's more of a reconciliation process between the two. If it was a date he does three key things to completely kill the relationship before it begins:
1 - Barret talks about his child from another partner for a great deal of the time, especially during the important fireworks moment when it's a good idea to get closer. Cloud might be thinking, "there's no room for me in his life." 2 - Barret shoots the fireworks. Implies that he's a bit reckless and may act in a similar way towards his partner. And it draws attention to the fact that he has a gun on his arm. 3 - IIRC he starts shouting at Cloud to talk more and then does all the talking himself. Barret is making himself out to be needy. Works for some people, not many, Cloud isn't one of them. I think we're talking about 3/10 compatibility here. The second date could go better. Cid and Vincent doesn't work either. And they're probably not gay. There was a really good term flipped between R51 and SilverMaduin in a news post, I think it was 'emotional masochist.' Cid and Vincent are both this way towards their female partners, with Vincent torturing himself and Cid torturing Shera, and I think this implies that they're probably not gay or bisexual. Even though they're undoubtably not gay, there's still nothing's stopping anybody in the game from being bi. I'm surprised this isn't considered more often, especially for the sexually ambiguous Cloud, who would go farther with the certainly not-so-attractive Don Corneo than either of the girls if given the chance.

Possible spoilers: highlight to view married to Shera and Vincent was in love with Lucrecia but unfortunately she had that thang with Hojo which created... Sephiroth? Idk.. Help me on that one because the storyline got too complicated for my little head at that point  EDIT: Yeah, Possible spoilers: highlight to view Hojo had the "thang" (heh) with Lucrecia but he was ghei (not literally) and injected her with Jenova cells whilst Sephy was in the womb, making him badass, but like screwing her up at the same time, so she goes off into the cave where you get Vinnie's Ultimate Weapon/Level 4 Limit  Unrelated... Cid married Shera and named her after his new airship, if he was in love with Vincent he wouldn't really do that in a hurry..

What this thread basically is is fanfiction. Their is barely any reference to any sort of sexuality in the game. This is really people's on projections onto the characters.
