Okay so, I mean the title literally. I don't know what my ethnic origin is, and it's been killing that I don't know for quite some amount of years now.
Below, I have posted three links. The top two are to give you a good idea of my hair color. Note that most people we see in the states that have blond hair have dark eye lashes and brows. I however, have blond EVERYTHING when it comes to hair, except (as you can see) a bit of red facial hair.
The final photo gives a close up on my eyes so that you can see how bright in color they are. Really flashy blue.
I'm going to put these photographs on a few other websites as well, and see how many different guesses I get, but don't worry, as of right now there is no correct answer. I don't really know where I'm from any more that you do.

After a few days I will get back with the results as to how many people from what parts of the world guessed what, so please state your nationality when you make a guess.

From the look of you, I'd say Sweden, Finland, Germany, or Norway. Though my guesses are probably wrong.

Finnish, easy. Your hair implies the areas Nytecrawla said but it's your facial structure and complexion which is typical Finland. You look a lot like two of my Finnish friends, enough to be their brother, and the other Finnish people I've met look similar but not quite so alike.

I'm from Scotland.

As luck would have it, I have a friend in my city that's from Scotland who says he is sure my facial structure is not Finnish, but rather Swedish or more likely, Norwegian.
Would you happen to have a photograph if either of your friends (that they wouldn't mind you PMing to me) that I could see to do a comparison?

Without wanting to pry, I'm surprised to hear of a person who is completely unaware of their descent, or ethnic origin. Wouldn't it be simpler to ask any existing relatives, or if that is impossible, research your own ancestry through whatever records or personal history you might have or be aware of? Unless even that is unavailable, in which case, I'd be stumped as well, I suppose.

At any rate, if I had to make a guess, I'd probably be in the same train of thought as the others who have posted. You have many more Nordic features in terms of facial structure. I'd easily believe you were Finnish, Swedish or even German.

As for myself, I'm of predominantly Italian descent.

My dad is the only family I have on his side. He was orphaned during the depression at age 4. I have no contact with my mother's side of the family, but they are all red heads so I assume there is a lot of Irish there. However, minus the red sideburns, my dad looked exactly like me when he was my age. Even though he is 70 now and has grey hair, his brows and lashes are still blond. I've just always been curious to find out why I am so effing blond, and other than the fact that my blood surname (Russell) is English (or so I've been told) I don't have a clue about my ethnic/family origin. It sucks pretty hard, actually...

Atop the overwhelming comments illustrating that you're some sort of Scandinavian, I'll add my own agreement, stereotypical as it might be. Could be a Dane, too, as that's widely considered Scandinavian as well.

I'm Portuguese-German, for what it's worth, but I identify much more with the Portuguese side. My family on that side comes from the island of Madiera off the coast of Portugal, the same island that bred Cristiano Ronaldo, heh.

I look fairly similar and I have German roots until about 2 generations ago

Try looking into any records you have like army join up things and birth certificates

I found out about my family almost exclusively from funeral records

I'd say we're compadres, but the island of Madeira is pretty much doing what's possible to become independent from us, the almighty Portuguese. Their (your?) loss.

While one of my grandmother's a gypsy, the rest of my family all comes from here - or Spain. Mostly here.

The red beard is a dead give away- you're probably packing some Irish, although I'm surprised nobody mentioned it, and it's hard to say unless you have more of a beard going. Other than that, like it's been said, some sort of other Nordic or Germanic.

Edit- and "Russell", evidently, is from Old French and suggests "Red", so, ha, there's that.

I've seen quite a few Scandinavian people with reddy blonde hair and pale skin. I'm pretty sure red hair isn't exclusive to Celtic people. The Finnish guy I mentioned who bears a startling resemblance to Sephiroth's pictures has blonde and red hair, and a red beard similar to the sideburns in the picture.

I'd definitely say one of the Nordic countries seems most likely. And, so that I can gloat if I'm right (as much as one can gloat about these sorts of things), I'll say Sweden.

Hmm.. well you look like bryan from The Breakfast Club. The nose makes me think Norwegian, but I'm no expert.

Your hair color, facial hair color, eye color, and complexion are actually very close to my own.

I'm mostly German (5/8), and the rest is English mutt (Scottish, Irish, Welsh).

Of course, that just seems to echo what everyone else has been saying...
