I'm working on an RPG which I really need ideas on.
So i thought one of the best places HAS to be CoN. So let's get straight to the point. Any ideas that i think is good i'll do my best to put it in. Oh and of course your nick names (or real names if you want just e-mail 'em) on the end credits. Thanks. Thanks And thanks again. -------------------- I am born from the shadows, I am skilled in the ways of the dark, I am the Dark Knight. |

well ill just tell ya what ive seen in other games (these seem to be a constant in any rpg) 1. elemental weapons
2. The Excalabur 3. imps here are some of my own ideas (in catagories, will be in Dungeons&Dragons format) ?d? is how much damage the weapon can deal according to a whatever sided die. the 1st number is how many dice and the second number is how many sides. email me if you dont understand how to convert it. All prices are in D&D format. 10000 gp in my worlds is spendy. Make the prices what ever you think would be good for your game. weapons 1. Flame Whip (1d6, x2 to ice elements, 100 gp) 2. Life/Death sword ( one side of blade heals (equivilent cure2) the other deals massive amounts of damage (20% instant kill) no price, must find). 3. Thorn Dagger (1d4, randomly casts poison, 50 gp) 4. Dragon Tooth (sword, 1d8, causes blood loss (lowers hp continuosly) no price, must find.) 5. Wind Lance (1d8, a light spear that creates a vaccum that helps in dealing blows faster and harder, 200 gp.) Armor 1. Helm(or any piece of armor) of Healing (heals random amount of hp each time it is the characters turn(1-???) 500 gp) 2. Rune Mail (absorbs 50% of any magic damage, 10000 gp) 3. Shield of Valor (wards off undead, no price, must find.) 4. Thief's Cloak (creats multiple images of character, reduces change of getting hit) 5. Druid's Robes (absorbs elemental damage (up to 50%) and converts that damage into positve MP, 5000 gp) Relics/Artifacts/Whatever 1. Star Armlet (prevents abnormal status, 1000 gp) 2. Pegesus Boots (increases speed and casts float, 1500 gp) i guess thats all i got that could be used in a ff style game. Good idea but i got a program which allows you to make FINAL FANTASY type RPGs
It's called RPGmaker2000. If i could post it here then anyboy who learns t ouse could make one if they have enough imagination. by the way it doesn't take long to figure out how to operate it. It took e let's say 2-3 hrs. but it isn't that long. I've started on the game as well and YES I WILL HAVE EXALIBUR (coolest sword in the world) but its gonna be a sidequest for sure. -------------------- I am born from the shadows, I am skilled in the ways of the dark, I am the Dark Knight. |

I just have one question, Zeromeus. Do you have any of your own ideas at all for this? Or are you just looking for other people's ideas?

RPGmaker might be a powerful tool, but since most RPG:s made on it look the same, with the same basic rules and fight engine, it goes boring after a while.
Zeromus, have you tried The Games Factory or Multimedia Fusion? Those programs might seem strange to use for you, if you're used to RPGmaker. But with them you can do everything original from scratch. Design your own battle engine, graphics, etc. A good way to make it as original as possible. Anyway, just a thought. Keep going in RPGmaker if it feels best for you. Go here to get information about the programs I mentioned: Clickteam's site -------------------- People say I'm a slow learner, but I type fast! |

The games Factory? My friend has it.
He working on a game too. So we both help each other out. Although, I am doing more of the storyline editing on both games. But, mt friend did have the original idea for a mongoose being the main character. (that is irrelevant though) He is also doing the animations for his own game. I only help out with the storyline. I do most of the work in my game because he isn't interested in RPGs so I basically develop it myself. SO! That brings us back to what I said last. I just need some bright ideas for sidequests. Thanks. bye. -------------------- I am born from the shadows, I am skilled in the ways of the dark, I am the Dark Knight. |

While we can't claim ownership of our avatars, since a few of them are from other sources, Zeromeus would probably be better off looking elsewhere for sprites. Maybe www.rpgsprites.com, or even look up Mog Sprites or Moogle Sprites in google.

I use RPGMaker as well...it's not a bad program, but I want to do so much more with..thanks to Shirrow for the links
![]() Sidequests? Well, perhaps you could make your dedicated magic user go on a quest by his/herself, using only basic mage spells and attacks. When finished, they gain [powerful item/spell/whatever here] You could have the party go on taks for people FFT style, helping out NPC's for gold/items.. These a just a few ideas, I'm sure people have more /better ones.. ![]() ![]() -------------------- Insanity requires the risk of understanding... both darkness and light... |

![]() So i guess i can put moogles in my game. (i'll probabally make 'em a sidequest) and they have very VERY rare items. -------------------- I am born from the shadows, I am skilled in the ways of the dark, I am the Dark Knight. |

KICK ASS! ok this game'll be good. I had an idea that goes with my whole mog thing....maybe you can make a mog guy a secret character not just a sidequest, and maybe someone from an older ff come as a secret too like in FFT Cloud was in it.

Sorry i hadn't posted in a while is just my homework is killing me!
So i'll take Mog-Knight's request for the Mog as a secret character. BUT you don't HAVE to get him. (like gogo in ff6 ,or ff3,whatever the hell!) so it is basically a sidequest (sorry) but like ff5 they will help you out and you have to get their help in order to progress. What do you say? Yes Or No (this should be a poll!) -------------------- I am born from the shadows, I am skilled in the ways of the dark, I am the Dark Knight. |

i finally have RPG maker 2000 working, (it wasnt before for some reason o.o) the only thing not working is the game player thing, but right now im working on actually making a game. I tried the help file to find out what to do, but the damn this is in japanese. could someone tell me a few things? like when making a map, how do you make town objects, such as people (NPC) do i just get the images or what? and also, ive made a town map and am nearing completion of the overworld, how do i connect the two? i have a few other questions but im asking to much as is. if anyone knows then please help me.

If you want to make people go to 3rd level editing (you know the three mouse pointers click the third one if not go through all of them until you come across the one which divides the map into a grid) than right-click on the grid box you want the object to be in and click "new event" (you can also use this to setup the place where you start of in the game) If you want to connect the 2 you got to setup a teleport event that transports you from one place to another (if you want to bo back and forh between the two you need 2 teleport events) Oh and one more thing i forgot to mention if you know this you can basically do anything except alter the battle mechanics and crap like that (you can do this with the database if you already know what it is i put it in here anyway.) So i can't explain the next part in words cuz it will inly confuse you BUT you can easily figure out the rest. (well I solved it with ease) SO i hope this helps you and good luck with your game!!!!

OK, this is no longer about helping one person with their game, it's just a general topic. As far as I can see, nothing has been *created* yet.
