Yay for you!
I play mainly as Golbez and Terra nowadays and sometimes as Kefka. I've gotten both of them to level 100 =D |

My fave so far has been Ultimecia. I also like Kuja, Zidane, Onion Knight and Emperor.
Too bad bad guys are a pain to level up and stuff. Edit: Cecil sucks. This post has been edited by Toransu Kuja on 5th October 2009 21:18 -------------------- Snooping as usual, I see? |

Congrats on getting it! ( I still don't have my pre-order bonus, despite owning the game for a month, I want my Zidane figurine dammit!)
This game has absorbed a good chunk of my free time. Let's see, I was planning on maining Firion or Bartz, but suddenly my Terra was level 100... it just happened, my next would be Bartz at 88, then Zidane at 82, WOL and Firion are both at 77 and Onion Knight at 72. I haven't touched the villains yet, I want to complete Shade Impulse with all the heroes to unlock their cut-scenes. Working on Cecil's now and I completely stink playing as him. Bartz is fun and Terra is easy to use, but at the end I think I'm going to go with Firion for my main. -------------------- "Love, and do what you will" Saint Augustine |

Yeah I hear ya man, Lunar Whale is giving me problems too, along with Inner Chaos. That's when I figured out I suck at this game lol. Attacks come out so fast that you can't dodge or block once they've started, so you have to guess what they're gonna do and preemptively block or dodge. But then another problem arises in that the AI dodges the counterattack, even though I can't seem to do that myself. The AI is a cheating bastard...

I only recently tried the Dual Colosseum, I gotta say is funner than story mode, but I still need to finish that all the way to 100%, except Inward Chaos, gotta farm for the good stuff first.
Oh look, there's even a Kingdom Hearts II reference in the manual: Quote (Dual Colosseum manual) Shadow: Don't even try dirty tactics like bribing opponents to lose... Setzer: What's this all about? I would never stoop to that! I ![]() And talking about manuals, I heard that Locke and Celes are also in one, but I haven't found them yet. Does anyone know which one is it? -------------------- "Love, and do what you will" Saint Augustine |

im just getting everyone to level 100 now, as well as ultimate weapons. i beat inward chaos a while ago with squall, come to think of it, with squall at level 100 and lionheart equipped, there is very little in that game that is a challenge.

I don't remember seeing Locke or Celes myself. There are already quite a few FF VI characters there though, with Biggs, Wedge, Shadow, Setzer, and Relm.

So, I'm in story mode. I find it endearing but SO CHEESEY.
The entire plot is in the metaphor of Light Vs. Darkness, and since they can't just go to say, Fabul or Nibelheim all of the character conflict has to be internal. The deepest character so far has been Golbez, with his conflicts of allegiance to Chaos versus his brotherly feelings. But yeah, every character fights with "What is my dream? Will I find it?" And each character must find their "Crystal" in story mode. The crystal represents the metaphor of light and hope. You'd think Cosmos would have just picked warriors who were already emotionally squared away... [edit] Also, the battle system can be frustrating. If an enemy is assaulting you with a barrage of projectiles, a lot of time your character just takes it, and you can't dodge. That's awesome if you're the one doing the damage, but when you're not it makes you feel like you're not even in control of the battle. If you liked the fightscenes in Advent Children, you should like this. The laws of gravity seem pretty forgotten. You can even destroy pillars with your attacks, which is sometimes frustrating because you didn't aim for the pillars, haha. As far as individual characters, I love Terra's land attack (Flood), and she's who I'm leveling. Also, I learned that in one stage, the most you can go is -9 Destiny points, so if your character is level 5 but you really want to kill that level 19 enemy, you can just flee to save the EXP, and after a (long!) while, you'll get enough EXP through the attacks you DO get to be on par. On Terra's level, I had that problem with Ultimecia being level 15, and me being level 5, but I REALLY wanted the treasure chest she was in the way of, so I just kept at it. It was frustrating, but it's a good way to level. Also: Has anyone figured out a good strategy for Squall? He always starts with 1-80 HP, then uses Photosynthesis and gets more throughout the fight, but he's incredibly hard to hit because he's fast and good at dodging. It's best to play defensive when they decide to go dodge happy on you. Get in close to him so he'll want to launch a brave attack at you, and block before he strikes. That will throw him off balance and let you get in an attack of your own before he has a chance to dodge it. Just pay attention and be sure to dodge instead of block if you see an HP attack coming. Hope that helps.

The worst battles yet have been with those Rare Battle Pieces. Damn you Golbez manikin! He's probably the toughest enemy yet. But that probably has something to do with my lack of skill playing Cecil. (I was level 30 and he was level 23 and won! Thrice! Then I fled.)
I've seen huge references in this game, alongside with really funny lines. Play Exdeath vs Exdeath. That's a stupid quote. Those enemies with 1 HP and insane bravery can be really annoying if you're playing a slow-hitting char with no quick area attacks like Cloud or Cecil or Warrior of Light. One-hit battles you will likely lose. And you know something fun? Not once I managed to dodge an HP attack during a chase. When I dodge right away, they go for the HP. When I wait, they go for the brave. ARGH. By the way, before that cutscene with that Garland wannabe-judge and the Puck-like rat kid, I was totally unaware of their existance. They are unlockable, and that I know, because the Cast of Thousands achievement say we have to unblock 22 characters. -------------------- Snooping as usual, I see? |

You'd think Cosmos would have just picked warriors who were already emotionally squared away... 100% agreed. The story's dialog is very painful. Now, I haven't played FFX, but in Dissidia, Tidus was actually the most bearable hero, and judging from his reputation, I guess that says a lot. He only wants to settle things with his old man instead of finding the meaning of his life, staring at roses or defeating mean guys with the power of friendship. The question here is: who is the cheesiest? I vote Cecil. Then again Firion has the whole roses thing. Oh and Onion Knight has the “listen to your heartâ€. And Squall is alone but he is not alone! ![]() The villains were done way better. Golbez has already been mentioned. So I'll say Kefka cracks me up, like always. Jetch is too awesome for this game. The Emperor is spot on, etc... I kinda enjoy the manuals and the moogle mail. Quote Also: Has anyone figured out a good strategy for Squall? He always starts with 1-80 HP, then uses Photosynthesis and gets more throughout the fight, but he's incredibly hard to hit because he's fast and good at dodging. Ah Squall, he gave me a lot of trouble too. When the match starts: dodge, he always attacks the first change he gets and he IS hella good at evading. Using an hp attack is a bad idea, he'll have an annoying summon at hand like Odin (or Photosynthesis as you said). So what I do is dodge>meteor>holy combo. Get away from his attack, then he'll try to dodge meteor and while he is busy with that punch him with holy and follow the combo. -------------------- "Love, and do what you will" Saint Augustine |

Most of the people I know with this game (about 5-10 people in my alma mater's gaming club) use Xlink Kai to play this over long ranges, since it doesn't require a PS3 with a Japanese account. It's worth looking up if you want to improve your PSP multiplayer experience; I've done it for Monster Hunter Freedom 2. -------------------- |

I've heard very bad things about xlink kai and how laggy it is, I think I'll stick to ps3 ad hoc party. That'll save me wasting £20 for a wireless adapter so I can have really terrible laggy games.

Attention!
Exdeath is now probably my favorite character. He's very slow, seems pretty goofy when dodging and free air dashing, and he's A TREE. However... In early level's he's Dissidia's punchbag, I admit it. But endgame, he's probably the strongest character ever. That starts being noticeable when you get that omni-block move. That gets you through a lot. And teleporting is still cool, even though you can't really choose your destination. But it attacks Brave. I also like the way he was turned from the annoying little warlock that "is easy to beat but just won't stay down" to a bringer of the Void more threatening than Golbez, Cloud of Darkness, and Chaos together. I'm personally scared of Exdeath. And Cloud of Darkness? What happened to that Chaos-like entity? Turned into a... human? -------------------- Snooping as usual, I see? |

To be fair, Terra's alternate look has green hair
![]() One thing that kind of made me laugh. If you go on the Characters section on the game and it says a little at the characters, everyone's is pretty basic ("In the original game, Cloud was ... "), but for whatever reason, Terra's last sentence is like, "Terra likes petting moogles, she likes fluffing their hair, especially before she goes to sleep." What in the world. I get the reference to her falling in the cave, passing out, and whatnot, but what a weird thing to have put in the About Me kind of section. -------------------- You're telling me that there's no hope. Quote What in the world. I get the reference to her falling in the cave, passing out, and whatnot, but what a weird thing to have put in the About Me kind of section. That's because Terra loves moogles, Each FFVI character description includes one thing they like and one they don't.
