As I re-call the algorithm is set so it should give you 2 kinds of chocobos. (E.G male blue, female green)
The way I fixed this problem was to just keep trying. If you save outside of the ranch you can just keep going back in and try again. -------------------- If god is all-forgiving then why do we have to kill people in his name? |

If you do the exact same thing every time you are going to keep getting the same results since the random number generator in this game is a list of numbers and saving saves the games position on the list. Try fighting some random battles then saving before trying to mate the chocobos again to move the rng along and hopefully you will start getting different results.

I had the same problem when I tried to breed: I got all greens. I believe that I solved it by switching it: using a great female and a good male to get a blue instead of the combination that you are using, which clearly results in a green.
I'm pretty sure that's what I did... regardless, it's worth a try seeing as you'll at least be mating a different couple. -------------------- Currently Playing : Final Fantasy V Most Recently Beat : Elder Scrolls: Skyrim Favorite Game : Final Fantasy X The newest CoNcast is up! Have a listen! |

Try switching the Chocobos around
![]() As in, catch a Yellow Female Good Chocobo + Yellow Male Great Chocobo, mate with Carob Nut, and you'll get a Blue Chocobo, hopefully. But I don't see why Blue is that important. Quadra Magic, meh. Ohh.... the Black Chocobo... -------------------- Does anyone actually like Cait Sith? |

Quote (Buddy @ 27th October 2009 23:47) mate the blue and the yellow This may get you a second Blue, provided he had one in the first place, but certainly won't get you a Green. The way I did it was with the same two Chocobo's (Female Great + Male Good) and mated them both at B-Class and received a Blue Chocobo, got them to A class and mated them to get a Green Chocobo...yes, getting a Black Chocobo was a bit taboo, but it still had to be done =]. |

Feeding the chocobo greens don't actually change their colour. It just makes them like each other more which I suppose increases the chance for a coloured or better chocobo. Also I never tried THAT method to get a black chocobo! Weeeeird people out there...
