Cloud Strife.....
Wow what a mess this kid is....

As interested as I am about whats really goin on in his back story, I cant help but to ask myself how things would be if he had done things a tad bit different. Such as:

1.) If he wasnt embarrased about not making it to SOLDIER and took his mask off to greet Tifa upon his return (mission to erradicate "monsters") back to Nibelheim?

OR

2.) What if he had taken his mother's advice to just settle down and get that nice, older girlfriend, put down his shinra attire, and moved out to like, Costa Del Sol err sumthin..

Answer to 1: he wouldn't have been controlled by Sephiroth and therefore, he wouldn't have handed the Black Materia to him.

Slightly off topic: I haven't played any of the other FF7 titles, just the original FF7. Is it true that now Cloud has a personality that is very Squall-like? Because if that's true, then it sucks...

Yep, I'm here.

4, 7 and 8 all had that emo main character deal. 4 was manageable, 7 was agitating and 8 was unplayable by my standards.

If you havent seen advent children you should check it out. Cloud is somewhat diffrent from what i can remember. i dunno i havent seen it in a while. thx for posting!

Cecil emo? I don't think I've ever heard that before. Cloud had some issues (all main characters have to have them in some form) but he wasn't like Squall.

I still like FFVIII.

Yeah it really does seem that they've changed Cloud's personality a lot over the years to me. Then again, for all I know that may have been how he acted in the original Japanese version when you think about the translation issues FFVII had.

Well if you put it that way..maybe all of the other characters in any of the other FF titles were the victim of bad translation..So maybe the characters we come to know so well are just a bad americanized form. Who knows what they're really like then...

Well I wouldn't call him emo but he really didn't have much of a personality until late in the game.
