So I'm playing the PSX version and was wondering if the Espers are broken. I equiped Bahamut and leveled up and didn't receive +50% to my Max HP. I then leved up twice more in 2 battles. (Single character party around (not in) the dinosaur forest). Seeing how I started with 3000HP, adding 200HP to my max isn't adding 50%. Is this a bug? I tested a few other Espers and am noticing similar behavior. thumbdown.gif

No, it's 50% to the bonus you will receive anyways, not 50% of your health. By gaining 200 more HP, you are getting 50% more than you would have.

LOL, I am sure everybody simple would be very lucky, if it would increase your total HP by 50% everytime you level up...tongue.gif

Iirc, the mana power ups are a bit to low btw.

I saw a guide somewhere that said you could max out your HP in 3-5 levels using Bahamut (depending on character)... so I thought it was based on Max HP of the Character.

I guess that would explain the difference.

Seeing as I'm fairly certain you can't get 9,999 HP in a low level game, I believe there's been a misunderstanding. I think he meant that to max out your character, you need at least 3-4 levels with a 50% hp boost and then at level 99 you'll have maxed out H.P. or something along those lines. Either that or its a bug. Any specifics? Anyone?

It could be at level 99. I know the guide I was reading specified using Bahamut starting around level 48 (I think... I'm still only 41 or 42 or so).

Probably a misinterpretation thing on my part. I'll find the site again.

Yup... misinterpretation on my part. A character will end with 9,999 if they equip Bahamut for levels 69, 70, & 71.

The 3-5 levels was actually for MP and that's around levels 48 or so. Not sure I plan on leveling all the way to 99 or if I plan on just beating the game.

I believe most people get to 9999 anyways, without using the bonus. So, I wouldn't bother, unless it's an imediate need.

That cleared up a lot for me too, I also thought you get a plus 50% life bonus after you level up, but I only got 200-400 life back. Isn't there a Esper in the GBA version that gives you 100% life bonus? Wouldn't that make you double? pinch.gif
