The King of Infomercials, Billy Mays was found dead. Those were the only infomercials I ever watch, plus the new ESPN commercials were he advertises ESPN.com are funny.
Not exactly like Mike, but hey he was a King too. This post has been edited by SaffireWeapon on 29th June 2009 14:31 -------------------- PS3 tag: TipoDLuffy "...quite possibly the greatest game ever made" |

I hear he bumped his head 'n got a headache. I wonder if working with the Head-On campaign and getting free samples would've helped. *Shudders*
Could you imagine it? Billy Mays chanting "Head-On, apply directly to the forehead." Maybe we've been spared… RIP Billy, mays the power of OxiClean be with you. -------------------- |

I wasn't as shook up with his death as MJ's, but still it's tragic.
Man, he was one of the only infomercial guys I like (other than the woman on the Extenze commercials, but that's a different kind of like). He actually became famous, he was pretty cool doin all those ESPN commercials. Man, what is happening to Hollywood? Not a good time to be a celebrity. -------------------- |

I just want to say that I loved Billy Mays. I would always go around school doing impersinations of him, advertising whatever random thing came to mind. He was such an outgoing guy! With such a charming baritone voice! With such clean and appealing facial hair! ... You know what, I'm gonna leave that comment out there. That's for you Billy, who made infomercials worth watching!

While I always thought Billy Mays' to be EXTREMELY annoying, he was a human being, and death isn't at all what I would have wanted for him. I don't know much about him, but I know he was a husband (don't know if he was a father), and the fact that he was not really that old all makes it tragic. As I get older, I realize more and more how lucky I am that I got to wake up this morning.

Well, I guess we all should be grateful that we're givenanother day, you know? -------------------- |

Billy Mays was a father. And he was also one of the best pitchmen to ever get on TV, putting him up there with Ron Popiel. I can understand how some people are annoyed by his personality, but his larger than life persona is, from what I've heard and seen about him, how he lived his life every day. He had been pitching for ages, starting off on the Atlantic City boardwalk. To love what you and do it your whole life is something you don't find very often.
Also, he has given back a lot to the consumer world. Go ahead and watch an episode of Pitchmen. This is what he's done for a while, getting people to come to him with their ideas, and helps them develop it or pitch it themselves. Billy had a friend who was left in a wheelchair with no legs and limited arm movement. His friend developed the awesome auger, and Billy took it and ran with it, making his friend a nice chunk of change. In a world where commercial salesman can be seen as sneaky or sleazy, or getting caught beating up prostitutes, it was nice to have a figure who stood behind what he pitched. -------------------- And have you found your joy, in this near dead world of ours? |

I didn't know all of that. It is cool to see someone like him do that kind of stuff. I heard him talking about some kind of charity too. That's really cool. -------------------- |
