Just got passed Final Fantasy 6 this weekend and really think that FF6 has the series best ending to a Final Fantasy game. It was really wonderful and emotional in a good way. Since it took many years to get passed this game, it really showed that all that work and leveling up was worth the effort.

But do you guys [ people who have seen the FF6 ending ] agree ?

Kind of thought that FF7's ending was rushed and didn't really make sense.
While FF8's ending was pretty good but also really blurred and confusing.
FF9's ending was really strange in parts and really unclear in the storyline of the ending.
Possible spoilers: highlight to view
Like HOW did Zidane survive ??

FF10's ending was emotional and really, really, depressing.
While FF12's ending was just a little too simple ?

But felt like FF6's was the most magical and kind of proves that you don't need flashy graphics or big long CGI scenes to show and have a brilliant ending.

Do you agree ? Please share your thoughts on this. happy.gif

FF 9's ending is my favorite in the series. I actually cried when I was watching it.

And I don't even like Zidane, so it wasn't really because he had survived.

FF 6's ending was beautiful indeed, but too long in my opinion. And I don't really remember FF 4's or FF 5's endings, so I guess they weren't really interesting.

FF9's ending was the best. FF6's was long... but alright.

Actually, as much as I love FFVI and absolutely adore it in every other way.

I always felt it had a pretty weak ending overall.

Really? You think so? Maybe but I always tear up during it, especially when the main FF theme plays. But maybe you're right.

Then again, I'm just saying that not to be biased. To me, everything is FFVI. That's why I've held off voting on this.

Ah, this topic is great for me biggrin.gif

I thought that FFVI had a good ending too. I especially liked the additional ending scene from the PSX port. I agree that it's long, but, after all those hours of gameplay, it was worth it.

FFVII, FFIX and FFIV all had good endings as well. Nothing amazing IMO, but still very nice.

I am a big fan of FFVIII in general, and the ending is no exception. I really enjoyed it: the attempts to picture Rinoa, the wandering. Yeah... I really liked FFVIII.

I think FFXII's ending was sorta... boring. Overall, I feel like FFXII shed a lot of the overall epic-ness of the previous FF's (I hate when people overuse the word epic, but I had no choice!). If the plot had been more along the lines of all the other FF games, I would have liked it much more.

But my all time favorite ending in any game is FFX. It's so bittersweet, and when Yuna tries to go to him but she goes straight through him... and he stands behind her... aww, you just have to love it! I might have teared up a little bit the first time I saw it. And the second time... ok, every time. It's the best ending ever. Period.

Me too. I think 6's is a great payoff.

But do you think it is the best ending? I'm not sure. I liked FFVII's a lot too.

FFIV ending was pretty similiar to Vi in a way, showing

Cecil and everyone going back to their normal lives, ending with a scene in the castle showing cecil and Rosa on the throne

But yeah, VI was definately a highlight ending to end the SNES era of FF's. However, it probably WAS a bit longer than it needed to be. Quality exceptional, Quantity TOO MUCH!

I think FFVII was definately the best, even if the game to me wasn't (always prefer SNES FF's the best!)

I think it's only a long ending primarily due to the amount of characters you've got in your arsenal to use. I mean 14 characters kinda goes for a while. Still love the ending regardless

It actually reminds me of LotR's ending. Great, but it's more like many endings in one.

It's like, "okay, it's ending now..... now..... or now....." know what i mean?

I've got both a long and a short version for my answer.

Long Answer: Because FFVI isn't my favorite FF game, I naturally assumed its ending would not be my favorite; however, the ending to FFT is a little disappointing (at least compared to the brilliance that is the rest of the game). With FFT out of the way, that left FFIV and FFVI to duke it out. The characters in FFVI seem quite a bit more developed than their FFIV counterparts, leading me to find greater satisfaction in FFVI's ending.

Short Answer: Yes, FFVI's ending is best.

Most of the time it takes to end is taken up by waiting for Kefka to crumble away.DIE ALREADY!! it's over you have no HP left and pretty soon the duh duh duh duhdududu tune will play and I'll be able to carry on with my life!

But still 'twas the best ending to any game I've ever played. It even beats Assassins creed which was a savage and bloodstained(Literally) ending and The Frozen Throne's coolness

The thing about FFVI that I liked was it's particular attention the the characters in its ending. The game really developed a lot of those characters quite well, and the ending really brought it all together for the close.

But FFX is still the best! biggrin.gif ohmy.gif cry.gif and thumbup.gif all at the same time!!

You felt that way and it was your favorite? Wow, I wonder how you feel about the endings you didn't like. I personally thought him slowly crumbling after all the destruction he caused was savoring.

Well VI was the first Final Fantasy I ever played and beat. I remember me and a friend beat it together and it was a great accomplishment. I have fond memories of this but then IX was really good so it is hard to say.

IV will probably be the saddest for me cause my brother just died a few months ago and we were kind of like Cecil and Golbez. Because I only knew the good side of him shortly before he passed. So that will always be a reminder.

The best part of the ending is the music. There's a particular part where Relm's theme transitions into Shadow's that is probably my favorite piece of anything Nobuo Uematsu has written. I would have liked to have seen something of their lives after, though. It didn't strike me as an ending in the tradition of most video games so much as a final bow by the cast. It's like they just paraded them out on stage and said "Strago Magus, ladies and gentlemen! *claps*" Then again, that's not true of all of them.

I love the ending, especially for the music, all those amazing pieces together , it chills me to the bone.

Although I can understand why some people wouldn't like it, it is “everything is happy now”(well, except you know who), the flowers bloom, the birds fly and people rebuild. Another thing is that it is too open. I personally like my endings open, but others may prefer something along the lines of FF4.

Of course it is my favorite ending, but I'm totally biased.
