my favorite part is when Sabin and Cyan run into Gau on the Veldt and he keeps calling Sabin "Mr. Thou", it's so funny! I almost fell over laughing when i read it. and then he tells Sabin "me like dancing! you good leader!" and Sabin is all like "SHUT UP!!!" i thought that was hilarious as well.
so, what parts of the game made you lawl? -------------------- -dysFUNctional- |

Mr. Thou is definitely a funny scene. Hell, anything with Gau is funny. Even the “reunion†with his father, a “drama†moment was full of hilarious lines, especially if you bring Edgar and Locke to get the entire dialog.
Apart from those: “M M M M M M MAGIC!?†“Wait he says... Do I look like a waiter?†“Food! Food! Bring me everything ya got!†“H…how dare you..you licentious howler!†“N'ghaaa! This is heavier than I thought! It'll take me five minutes to drop it!†“Listen my lady, I've been "Gerad" all my life!†“Bushido in the bedroom†or in the SNES version, Cyan’s book of secrets. -------------------- "Love, and do what you will" Saint Augustine |

My favorite part is when you first meet Celes when Locke is wearing the Imperial Soldier's outfit.
"Aren't you a bit short to be an Imperial Trooper?" Now I want her to say "Help me Locke Cole. You're my only hope!" -------------------- "My name is Atma...I am a power both ancient and unrivaled... LOL, these are all funny.
you're right, anything involving Gau is awesome. ![]() I feel bad for Cyan when that dancer girl is hitting on him! XDDD Poor Cyan. I'd huggle him but I happen to be female, so he'd probably freak out even more! I wish there was a funny scene with Gogo! hmmm... a scene with Gogo and Gau would be utterly amazing! Something like that would make my life. This post has been edited by SnickerSkull on 2nd March 2009 11:58 -------------------- -dysFUNctional- |

I love Gau most of all, and my favourite part is probably when he calls Sabin 'Mr Thou' and Sabin says 'Mr Thou...IS THAT ONE OVER THERE!" referring to Cyan. Also, in the World Of Ruin, Sabin tells Gau off for eating with his hands, and Gau replies with 'Uaooo..." or something like that, and Sabin says 'Uaooo does not mean sorry!' If it's different to how you know it, sorry. I played the PSX version first then my mum got rid of it and now I play the GBA version on my laptop. They still kept Kefka's crazy-ass laugh, I was soooo happy!

Who doesn't love Gau, honestly? even if you don't like his fighting style, he's still an awesome and funny and adorable character.
![]() I also loved when Sabin, Shadow, and Cyan are trying to get out of the Imperial camp and they get into the MagiTek armour. Cyan: "Sir Sabin! How might these abominations be manipulated?" Sabin: "I'm getting sick of this. Thou art such a pain in the--Confound it all! Now I'm starting to talk like you!" i'm not sure if this was mentioned already in this thread but i still felt like posting and saying how much i loved that scene. But Gau still pwnz all. -------------------- -dysFUNctional- |

Hehehe, I'm replaying my GBA version due to a botched save and I've gotten to the part where the gang talks to all the troopers in the Imperial Castle. If you go into the bathroom in the trooper's dormitory, there's one guy on the toilet. I can't remember what he says in the SNES version, but in GBA he declares, "Poo on peace!"
I lol'ed at the juvenile potty humor. ![]() -------------------- I figured I had paid my debt to society by paying my overdue fines at the McLennan County Library. "Oh crap!" - Bartz "Huh? Why's everyone singing?" - Sabin |

Eh, everyone has different tastes. We're talking about the funny here, Gau is a comedy relief character, his job is to make you laugh. Shadow is the opposite cold badass guy, so Gau is going to stand more in this kind of topics. Not that they are perfectly tailored into their roles, Gau manages to make me feel sad when his father rejects him and Shadow has some funny lines here and there like "Stay away, the dog eats strangers" and...and...umm...See what I mean?
Quote (DoILookLikeAWaiter? ) "He'd slit his mama's throat for a nickle!" Personally, and I think I'm alone in this one, I like the Advance version of that line better: "I heard he'd even kill his best friend for the right price." Of course it lost the humor but is OMG foreshadowing! It gives us a more accurate first impression of Shadow and I doubt nickels exist in the FF6 world. [ Apart that the SNES line is a little odd for a king to be saying it >_>]. -------------------- "Love, and do what you will" Saint Augustine |

"He'd kill his own best friend for the right price" makes Shadow seem more serious while the other version makes him look like a deranged psycho..

I think the 'nickel' line is pretty humorous, especially because you bump into him in a cafe with his dog. Also, who could forget the times you pick Shadow up and he leaves you in the lurch within 5 fights? I always thought that was funny, too.
I have to say, though Gau was supposed to be funny, I always just found him annoying. A character that was supposed to be funny and succeeded was Ultros; I always found him hilarious. You know, just the little things, like when he wants to steal the statues to impress Zigfried. You can just imagine Ultros hanging out with Zigfried while they scheme about what to do next and whatnot. A comical image, indeed. Quote I like the Advance version of that line better: "I heard he'd even kill his best friend for the right price." Same here, really. It does seem more accurate for the game and fits Shadow's character pretty well. But hey, he has a good side to him as well, let's not forget that. I mean, he saves your life on the Floating Continent, and the first time I went up there I felt really bad when I escaped 'cos I found out that if you waited about five seconds before the timer ran out and you could see the airship, then Shadow would come running and you'd find him again in the World of Ruin in the Colosseum or something like that. But if you leave him up on the Floating Continent he dies, which I did the first time. Sob... -------------------- Talk to me softly, there's something in your eyes...don't hang your head in sorrow, and please don't cry...I know how you feel inside, I've, I've been there before...something's changing inside you, and don't you know... |

Bushido in the bedroom was pretty funny.

It's extrage because I always let Cid die in favor of a better scene with no problem at all. I agree about Shadow not being that bad, the man has a dog. That aside, he didn't do anything to make you think that, he did heroic acts and never betrayed your party or anything (if you don't count leaving whenever he wants as betrayal). In my opinion he was just bluffing with the killing emotions bit. By the way, why does Shadow wants all that money?, a fuma shuriken collection?, sirloin for Interceptor?, a saving account for Relm?, the Baram fund for the pauper? I remember him saying that was because of his training as a monk to resist temptations or something like that, I think it's on the Advance version only. The training doesn't seem to work for food though. And let's not forget Cyan has a “book of secrets†or "bushido in the bedroom" hidden somewhere. I say he was playing dumb to keep his reputation. Fun fact: Did you know the “howler†was originally intended to join the party? She was going to be a whip user. Wonder what her special ability would have been. One totally unpredicted and hilarious bit I remember was when I had Relm Sketch a Marlboro on Kefka's Tower and then used it to Sneeze itself. It was like some Disney cartoon sneeze. Either that or when I used the same Marlboro outside of the battle to then Sneeze the Behemoth out as well.
